GAME THREAD: Steelers v Panthers: Thurs 26th Dec. SOLD OUT

The Boxing Day Classic, except it's been a while since it was. As long as we take the points I'm happy. 4pm face off.

I really think the club could have got some extra seats in for this game which could have beaten the Arena attendance record for an ice hockey game. We sold out early enough.

The first Boxing Day game for years that it will be the stream for me. Whilst I get the ‘tradition’ playing against the Panthers, I’d be quite happy to play someone else like Manchester for example. I personally feel these game are stale affairs.

The Panthers are playing much better though at the moment and if we lose against Cardiff, this game might have a bit more hanging on it rather than a routine Steelers win.

Given the Cardiff performance tonight the panthers will be smelling blood in the water.
For the first time in years I'd make them favourites.

I actually think this is probably the right game for us at the right time.

No doubt Nottingham are playing the better hockey right now, but nothing like a sold out local derby to get things back on track.

The team shouldn't need motivating for this, so let's see what they have to offer.

Normally i wouldnt hesitate to say victory for us but just dont know what to expect with this one. Been saying to myself the last few games,,,this is the game where the lads are going to turn it around but its not happened.

Well hopefully we end the stinky slump we're currently on cos a L today and it'll be a proper whiffy building at games end.
