Really we should be saying, congratulations to Belfast here.

It would be pretty poor (as a Belfast fan) if they threw away the league with their games remaining, especially with two home games against bottom of the league who may not even exist next season in the EIHL.

But as we know in many sports, nothing is guaranteed. I still believe Belfast are favourites for a 2nd grand slam in 3 seasons though, even though I don't think they're that good a side this season.

Still, at least it looks like it's gone down to the final weekend of the season.

If I were a Belfast Fan I would be looking with trepidation at the last weekend. 2 matches against a Panthers team who are flying at present with a top rank goalkeeper and a shot at the title themselves.
Teams have thrown this away from these positions before....we are one of them !😀

They are saving themselves for play offs and I can’t really blame them

Problem for them is they need to push it up a level ahead of the playoffs. They could play Coventry who let's face it, will punish any team they play who aren't 100% on it.

I think there's a few worried Devils fans around, especially if Fournier is not available for the quarters

I see both Panthers and Giants won last night, as expected.

We now slip to 3rd, 3 points behind Belfast and 1 behind Panthers, but with a game in hand over Panthers.

If we can win both games this weekend it goes to the final weekend, but we really need Panthers to beat Guildford on Saturday to keep them interested.

I was just having a quick look at a few stats and noticed Grande is at 94.98%, which is insane. That's probably the highest I've ever seen in the EIHL era from a netminder who has played a decent number of games. It's the sort of form which wins championships.

I've always liked Danny Stewart and he can certainly pick a netminder much better than Fox. This might not be popular on here, but if we do fall short I hope Nottingham can get those 3 wins to take the title.

Regards

If we don't win I'd rather see the Panthers win the league than the Giants, puts some spice back in the rivalry and to be fair after last season I don't mind them having something to celebrate for a change. I'd also prefer Dundee to qualify for the playoffs instead of Manchester.

Watched the first period of the Giants game - make no mistake, I can see Nottingham beating them both games, especially with the form Grande is in. We just have to win out and see what happens.

To be honest, even if we don't manage to take the league title, I can't really complain with the effort - going down to the last weekend just tells me it's a bounce or two going your way from winning it.
