..snip..

If we can win both games this weekend it goes to the final weekend, but we really need Panthers to beat Guildford on Saturday to keep them interested.

...snip..

I don't get this wanting Nottingham to win. If they lose they will still be within 4 points of the Giants.
I hope they lose.

Belfast are currently 2 points ahead of Nottingham with a game in hand, which is against Fife.

If Belfast win the game against Fife they're 4 points clear.

If Nottingham lose to Guildford, the only way they can overhaul Belfast is if Belfast lose at home to Manchester, which is unlikely.

Nottingham going into the final weekend with no chance of winning the league will more than likely be concentrating on the playoffs, which probably means Grande is rested.

We really do need Nottingham to still have a sniff a week on Saturday.

To be honest, even if we don't manage to take the league title, I can't really complain with the effort - going down to the last weekend just tells me it's a bounce or two going your way from winning it.
Agreed, it's been a good effort to stay in it, although partly aided by Belfast doing their best to make it interesting.

We've had more to contend with than any other team due to the CHL, it was obviously draining both physically and mentally against such quality opposition.

I thought we might get away with it, but I think that final game in Berlin killed us. Looking back we lost Greenfield, Vainio, Dowd and Watling, with Balmas and Leavens also picking up knocks.

The 7 losses in 10 games after that have more than likely cost us the title. The best two teams this year have been ourselves and Nottingham, but the CHL cost us and Nottingham took too long to sort themselves out. Grande and Fossier have transformed their team.

Completely agree. Nottingham deffo struck gold on Grande like we have with Greenfield. Be interesting to see if both are in the league next year (I have my doubts!). Bednard was good, but they probably don't take quite as many wins with him Vs with Grande. Even with Fossier they've not scored as well as us or Belfast.

If Greenfield doesn't get injured and Golod didn't need to go home? I think we'd have wrapped it up already. Cardiff might well have been in a better place too without their injuries. Too many minutes loaded on to old players because of it, and Shinkaruk would probably have been a top 3 forward in the league.

Personally wouldn't be writing Manchester off tonight & I certainly wouldn't write the Panthers off next week either.

We just need to win our remaining 3 games, that's all that matters, concentrate on ourselves.

Belfast win the title today if they win and we lose to Fife.

Pretty sure it will go down to the final weekend though.

Will Nottingham manage to do us a favour?

I really didn't see that result coming, even though Manchester are desperate.

It looks like Belfast had a similar night to our home game against Coventry, when plenty of chances are created, but nothing will go in.

I'd say it's now 50/50 between us and Belfast, with Nottingham outsiders

Two tough games for us, but Belfast with the slightly tougher fixtures.

If we do win it, Tony Smith should be sending D'Aoust a bottle of champagne.

Game On

interesting last w/end coming up, much better for league if not for nerves to have a close run in as opposed to one team winning title few games before end of season,,,,
