To be fair, De Flippo didn't instill much confidence from the off I don't think buddy.ginger wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 9:21 amSlightly harsh on De Filippo - he got injured, and then it's taken a long time to get back. He's hardly had any hockey so a bit unfair to judge.BontSteeler wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 12:24 amI have to say though Greeny, considering how Champions League exploits & injuries, these guys have really stood up this year, especially considering the amount of games we've played.
Now just imagine if we'd been able to have a decent No2 behind Greenfield this season, then I firmly believe we would've popped Belfast to the title.....
See what tomorrow night brings but at least we're still in with a shout.....
Come on Steelers!
That's just bad luck and given his career to date he'd probably have been solid enough, whilst being unspectacular.
The Berlin game away when we effectively lost both netminders, and about 3 other guys to injury. Slump followed. Had we not had injuries to both netminders we probably pick up at least an extra point in that slump. It's really fine margins, and we've just lacked a little bit of luck this year, because there's not much to pick between the top 2/3, and Cardiff had they not had so many injuries could also have been in a better position.
I said before the season that years like last year happen very rarely - apart from the obvious, nothing really went against us all year, with very few injuries and everything seemed to fall perfect.
Ultimately we did what we needed to last night, that's all that matters. Same again today
