Article on the official site that it's a big weekend and if all goes to plan we'll have at least one signing next week. Sounds like a time limited out in an agreement is up.
That was my thoughts.

The Twitter feed on Sunday suggested it was a good day for the Steelers, so I guess it went as hoped.

Fingers crossed it's one of our top players returning for another season.

Regards

Message on the WhatsApp suggests it's 2 big deals completed. I'm pretty sure one is Balmas. It's just whether the other is Golod or a new player

Saucerman to Coventry

From the usually reliable rumours account on X

I'm ok with it, as much as I like Sauce, he appeared to struggle a bit after his injury. I think we realistically had to upgrade in D and it was always likely that Guimond/Sauce/Diffley would be the likely candidates

Out of the three named here I'd keep Diffley, steady, calm, doesn't make many unforced errors and a low penalty taker.

I wouldn't have had an issue with Sauce returning, but if he does go I'm sure it's with the best wishes of all Steelers supporters.

I've just had a quick check and he was joint 2nd on our +/- last season.

Coventry will be getting themselves a very good warrior who plays a crisp pass out of defence.

Halbert to Belfast apparently.

Big signing if that's true. Hanson rumoured to be re-signing as well, and I can't imagine them not keeping Roach and Baum. With Sam Jones also rumoured thats a pretty stacked D with 1 more spot. Not heard anything on Bast, so Halbert could be his replacement.

Halbert would be a very tasty signing.

Cardiff rumoured to be in talks with Brandon Hawkins - top scorer in the ECHL last year.

Hope our 2 big deals over the weekend can compete (Southorn was not one of those and had been signed for a while).

Simms has commented on X that we had 4 other signings that we could have announced instead of Southorn (a couple of people suggested to release a different name after it became obvious that it was Southorn to be announced). No knowledge, but I'm almost certain one is Balmas. I hope one of them is Golod. The only other possible returnees I could see are Watling and Diffley at this point.
