Updated rumour suggests B Whistle will now be re-signing with us! Hopefully this time it's true!

Also, official account confirmed signings this week. Sounds like at least 1 is new, a couple of people on X appear to think it might be Braden Christoffer. I really hope it is, as I've kept an eye on him for the last couple of years. Played on the Innsbruck team with Ciampini, Tansey and Sauce, but since went to Liiga and then back to ICEHL last year. 30 years old so still a good age
Not seen anything about Christoffer myself. Decent enough stats on EP, He Seems to have high Pims what sort of player is he?
Small but good physicality for his size, great compete level and skilled enough to put up good points in EIHL. Put up decent points in Liiga in what's a pretty defensive league (Kirk was about 0.7 ppg when he went there, Christoffer 0.55). Plays with a bit of an edge hence the penalty count.

Should do really well here, and knows Tansey from playing in Innsbruck.

I doubt Christoffer is signing - Elite Prospects has a rumour of him signing in ICEHL again so expect that to be true.

Shame as I really want to see him in EIHL before he gets too old but unlikely now

I wasn't particularly sold on Christoffer. I'm always a little nervous when a players stats drop away as significantly as his have.

In 20/21 he got 19 + 32 in 46 games and was 2nd only to Sauce in +/- on the team.

In 24/25 he was 7 + 17 in 43 games and finished 16th on +/-.

That's quite a drop off in the same league. Possibly he was on a poorer team and playing further down the lines in 24/25, but it also makes me wonder if old father time was catching up with him.

For me it would be very much like the Leavens signing. A decent player who is probably a good pro, but not 1st line material.

At 30, it's not going to be age, it's more likely team/role. Ultimately looks like he's staying in ICEHL so I don't think it's a problem in terms of drop off.

Watched a couple of Bolzano games and he's definitely got a bit of Brendan Connolly about him. Maybe not quite as much of a chip on his shoulder but he'd have brought a lot of grit to go with a good skill set which I think we missed in our top 6. Think he'd help open up a bit of space for players like Balmas and Juusola, and offer something different.

Anyway, looks unlikely now and I don't think he'll end up over here. And we'll probably have to wait til July anyway to find out the real big signings :D

Simms has tweeted that today will be looked back on as a great day both on and off the ice. Cryptic as always, probably just another friendly against Nottingham :D

With Sheffield Window Centre no longer being headline sponsor, I wonder if this is a new sponsorship deal.

With Steeldogs also announcing that Bradfield Brewery are no longer title sponsors for the Steeldogs and us announcing Sheffield Window Centre no longer being our title sponsor. i am thinking the next news will be that both clubs will be sponsored as one together under 1 big sponsor deal... :wonder:
