So far I make the team something like this. Do wonder if the players we’ve been linked with make this side capable of competing with the likes of cardiff and Belfast if they field teams as strong as last year. Need at least 2 probably 3 marquee signings to be in with a shot of silverware next season and none of the names I’ve seen have been that quality
Eberle won't be back for the start of the season even if he does come back, can't see Dowd not in a top 6 role either. And I think Whistle proved himself capable of being a third line center, obviously we'd have more strength if we could have him as 4th line and an upgraded 3rd line but I would be happy to see him on the 3rd. He could possibly be wasted on the 4th depending who else is on that line.

I would hope more for something like:

IMPORT-IMPORT-IMPORT
LATAL-IMPORT-DOWD
IMPORT-WHISTLE-MOSEY
IMPORT-IMPORT-JONO

IMPORT-IMPORT
IMPORT-JONES
SCHULZE-DAVEY

IMPORT / IMPORT
WARBURTON / MCCLUAGHLIN
Yeah I put Dowd on the 3rd as in recent years lines 2 and 3 have been very similar in quality. Looks like with the signing of raska our 2nd may be complete. And yes whistle is absolutely good enough for the 3rd line. But I do think it depends how good our first line is. If we get at least 2 premium players on the 1st line he’s good enough. If we have a more mediocre first line we need the extra firepower from the 3rd imo. Time will tell though

I'd happily have Dowd on 3rd if we've got that kind of quality on lines 1 and 2 as well, I just didn't think we would find 2 better RW's along with the rest of the top 6 forwards in our budget to be honest. I'd imagine Dowd is a top earner in terms of Brits as well as he is top 6 EIHL standard forward, won't find many better imports or Brits for what he gives us.

And yeah if Whistle is on the 4th then we definitely will have some quality in terms of depth in the lineup as well as he has proven he can play up the lineup when needed and can put up points.

I rated McNulty as a guy who did the basics well with both Manchester & Cardiff.

Would hope we could land better quality than Lammon though.

Wouldn't be overly keen on either McNulty or Lammon from what I remember of them.

I'd take McNulty, he doesn't put up big numbers but he has good +/- stats which is a good sign that he's a dependable stay at home defenceman.

I can't see what Lammon would bring to the table. Cardiff fans don't seem to be calling for his return so they were clearly underwhelmed.

I’m actually more interested in where we are with the goalie situation. I was hoping that would have been announced as one of our first signings to be honest.

I dont believe either of our previous season Netminders are up tp the stud Goalie status we need.. :Puzzle:

I know there is a strong Stats argument for keeping Rok Stojanovic but in my opinion that does not tell the whole story... saying that I would be happy for Rok to be our second goalie, just not our number one...

I agree. I liked Rok and would be delighted if he was our number 2. I don’t think he should be our number 1 goalie though, despite his strong stats. Let’s hope we have a new stud goalie in the 6 new signings we already have.
