I think we will have problems if Conns our first line centre. From the proposed line up im not sure I'm excited yet but it's so difficult to make an assessment based on names and the CV's. Look how many big names we've been let down by and the lesser names who've turned out great.
I reckon we've been waiting to hear from Todd to complete our D plans, and I have a gut feeling that we may have made an offer to Raine who is the type of d man we could do with that Giants have just announced as returning.

If that does turn out to be our line-up I get where people are coming from about not being particularly excited, but I wouldn't say we're a long way behind Nottingham/Cardiff.

On my figures we'd have as many goals in our line-up.

We'd have the best netminder in the league, something many of us point out as being crucial to success.

We'd look reasonably gritty, if not tough.

I do think we look a bit lightweight/weak defensively.

The Czech line would excite me.

It would be a wait and see line-up for me, but initially I'd be fairly neutral on it.

There's just something about this roster that doesn't excite me. I feel Cardiff and Nottingham have far better squads on paper than us.

I'm happy to be proven wrong though.

I think for me it’s the Czech line with stats you can’t really gauge that adds to the mediocre look of the roster, If Raska and Mandat had played in other higher European leagues or more seasons in North America and put up good numbers I would look at it differently, as it is their unproven so the stats don’t flatter.

Agree with that. I also don’t think Connelly is a 1st line centre - I’d have thought more 3rd line.

Totally agree think we need better in the first line slot but based on previous seasons that’s where he’ll play. We haven’t got a centre who is a genuine first liner for a championship contending team.

Based on an interaction on twitter with the club and a fan I wouldn’t expect one of the announcements on Tuesday to be a netminder unless they are deliberately trying to throw them off.
