I've gone for a Nottingham O/T win.

Tonight (boxing day) was drab but I still think we're good for a 1 point road return.
I retract my previous prediction.

I obviously give Nottingham far more optimism than they deserve.

Game Over.

Nottingham Panthers 1-5 Sheffield Steelers

Very impressive victory down In Nottingham, huge game by Ciampini with a hat trick & a double by Latàl.

Well played boys, to win in Nottingham is never easy but to win by such a margin is fantastic.

4 point Christmas & puts us 1 point behind Guildford Flames, who welcome Manchester Storm later this evening.

Rather oddly they give Petgrave MOM.. Given Ciampini scored a hat trick he must wonder what he has to do. Petgrave is good though occasionally a penalty taker in spades.

Another very good Christmas for Steelers.

Surprised to see Petgrave get motm, would have expected Ciampini or Greenfield.

I do think the reason Petgrave can do what he does is down to the unselfish work of Nevalainen who is massively underrated.

The turning point was the Panthers disallowed goal. If the rule is that it's only disallowed if the interference is deliberate then the Panthers should feel aggrieved, if it's down to any sort of interference (deliberate or accidental) then it's the correct call.

Ultimately it doesn't matter now 😀

Excellent result to keep the pressure on Guildford. Will Manchester do the same later tonight?

Looking forward to nye should be a better spectacle than last night.

Perhaps it's just me but if the shoe was on the other foot, I would be feeling rather peeved that the goal was disallowed, didn't think the Panthers player did much wrong tbh.

Very happy after watching the game online with the family. I've had doubts on Ciampini lately, but he ended those with a hat trick. Looking forward to Storm on NYE now.

Haven’t seen it but 2 points
- we’ve had decisions go against us and been peeved so it evens out over time
- the officials had the opportunity to consider it and you don’t very often get that so you’ve got to move on. Nottingham had plenty of time to get over it and still lost
