Ended up watching the stream. 5-1 did flatter us, but I do think we deserved the win in the end. Couldn’t see much wrong with the Panthers goal to be honest which could have made it a different game if it had stood.
Much better game than the Boxing Day game. Really enjoyed it. Their keeper with the save of the season followed by a superb assist for us .
Thought Petgrave was very good over both games as was Connolly as well. 2 very good assists from him.
Surprised to see Petgrave get motm, would have expected Ciampini or Greenfield.
I do think the reason Petgrave can do what he does is down to the unselfish work of Nevalainen who is massively underrated.
The turning point was the Panthers disallowed goal. If the rule is that it's only disallowed if the interference is deliberate then the Panthers should feel aggrieved, if it's down to any sort of interference (deliberate or accidental) then it's the correct call.
Ultimately it doesn't matter now

Perhaps it's just me but if the shoe was on the other foot, I would be feeling rather peeved that the goal was disallowed, didn't think the Panthers player did much wrong tbh.
Thing is, the call on the ice was no goal. Therefore the video has to show conclusive evidence there was no contact or interference. I’m not sure it shows that

The refs decision for me was correct, he was in a good position to see what was happening and waved it off immediately. The review had to give them evidence to overturn the on ice decision. The play backs showed enough contact to knock Greenfield over and leaving him in a position where he was unable to make a save. Weighing all this up the decision was correct, no matter how much they claim corruption and the officials cost them the game.
According to #sexyhockey Coach Corey.. " everybody at the rink knows that wasn't a 5-1 game".. That right there sums up why the current version of the Panthers are battling not to finish outside of the playoff places, you cannot fix things until you admit you have a problem to fix. In the mean time we'll keep accepting the usual xmas gift of 4 points from the Panthers and their local golf clubs will reserve a few extra tee times in early April for them
