All very predictable, but it's getting very hard to have any sympathy for Fox now...

Had we played Lavigne we would have lost.
How so?

I agree that it was very much a big possibility, because Greenfield is an outstanding netminder in this league, probably the best or at the very least equal to Beskorowany but I think better.. and at times he kept us in the game and I am not convinced the team would not have hung out a green keeper playing his first game for us... :meh:

There are no “ take it easy “ games for us now , whoever the opposition. We will probably have to win every game to have any chance of taking the title. Daunting.

And a realistic response to that fact is that no matter how positive we all are, that really is not what is going to happen, based on our last half dozen games alone.... :emot:

I'm not thinking about the league title anymore, for that to happen:

1. We'd have to win in Belfast - Very unlikley.
2. Belfast would have to lose 2 other games on top of our victory - Very unlikely.
3. We would have to win the rest of our games including the Belfast game - Very unlikely.

I remember the 1981 Headingley Test Match, so stranger things have happened, but realistically we must be around 100/1 now for the title.

It's going to be a real problem for Tony Smith, because tickets from now until the end of the season are going to be much harder to sell with very little to play for and the quality of hockey being dreadful. It's also likely to impact on season ticket sales.

I think Aaron Fox has run out of ideas and now doesn't have a clue how to get a tune out of his players. He's tried changing line combinations multiple times, but nothing seems to be working. Just like last season they appear to have run out of steam.

Looking to next season the only players I'd keep are:

Greenfield - Outstanding

Nevalainen/Petgrave - Probably the best defensive pairing in the league.

Latal - His speed still appears to be there.

The Brits - Jones, Dowd, Whistle and Graham.

I'd also be tempted to have another look at Brown and Shudra who are both doing exceptionally well at Leeds. Brown was arguably the best young player of his generation, but has been blighted by injures. This season he really seems to have found his form again.....I'd hate it if he ended up in Belfast, Nottingham or Cardiff and started putting up the points.

As for the rest of the imports, could we go a bit younger so that they don't run out of steam in the New Year....possibly with a new coach?

Regards

I'd love to see this current team under a different coach.

My gut feeling is that they're not performing at their optimum under the current setup.

New coach for a playoff push perhaps?

Unfortunately Dundee are generally a poor watch under any coach/team, it's just the nature of that type of game. That's no disrespect meant to Dundee.

I thought there might have been a bigger crowd, but perhaps quite a few have thought it's not worth bothering, That should give Tony his evidence required to make a change.

I called this team out in October last year, unfortunately it looks like I will proven right that this team is simply not good enough under it's current set up to win a Championship.

I've said this already, but I would be changing the coach now to give a new one chance to get to know the league set up a little bit and maybe give us that jump that we need to try and have a good go at the Playoffs.

For me the hockey is equally the worst I've seen in Thompson's season. In other words the worst hockey I've seen in 20+ years.

Was a poor performance but are we really surprised. Some think another coach would get more out of this team. I'm not so sure.
Its been a very disappointing season from an on ice entertainment point of view.
