Wish him all the best, been keeping an eye on his record & he's done a decent job in the Czech Republic, especially during the playoffs.smbmetal wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2024 2:08 pmThe next step on Kirky's hockey journey......

The DEL is a step up & it'll be interesting to see how he goes.

In terms of standard, it's probably more sideways/slight step down generally, but in terms of money/exposure it's almost certainly a step up.BontSteeler wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2024 7:41 pmWish him all the best, been keeping an eye on his record & he's done a decent job in the Czech Republic, especially during the playoffs.smbmetal wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2024 2:08 pmThe next step on Kirky's hockey journey......

I'm guessing he's going in as top 6 forward (maybe even top line) so overall I think it's a good move if no NHL/AHL deal likely to come.
Plus if he does well in the DEL, it opens up potential move up to SHL/Liiga/Swiss - generally considered the 3 best leagues in Europe

Kirky scores 2 on his DEL debut - one a nice close range rebound, the other a slapshot off left wing that went bar down glove side.
Apparently Berlin have close ties to LA Kings, so if he has a really good year in DEL, don't be surprised to see him at Kings camp next summer. Fingers crossed!
