There’s no disgrace in that result. Berlin were better but not by a massive margin. With a bit of luck we could’ve taken it closer than that.
Teams know we can play so they take it to us physically and we’re getting banged up in our own league. Losing 3 key players for the first leg then losing 3 during this leg gives us little chance.
Disappointed because I was really enjoying these games but we move on.
Hope Greener and Watling aren’t too bad.

What damage was done to Greenfield and whether or not it was a consequence of the hit is pure speculation. To add to that, I did wonder if he was actually concussed as I think he stumbled and it looked like he was hit on the head. I hope not for his sake, though that might be more recoverable than a leg injury for a goalie. We just have to wish him well.
What another great effort and we’ve done ourselves proud and surprised many people by even making the round of 16. Very few of us had us down for one win, let alone qualifying with 11 points.
As for this game we were excellent in the 1st period and deserved more than one goal. They certainly stepped it up after the 1st though.
Seven power plays including a 6 on 3 for over 30 seconds, we have to score more than a single goal at this level, especially when you’re afforded the full 2 minutes. I’m afraid I don’t agree there with Fox’s post game comments that our PP looked good. It may have looked good but it didn’t produce good I’m afraid.
I’m afraid there appeared to be few missing players for us tonight. Tansey certainly wasn’t in ‘beast mode’ and I can see why Leavens after a promising start has been dropped to the 4th line. A decent effort from De-Filippo, but I’m afraid I don’t believe he is good enough.
Really hope Watling and Greenfield are ok. It was a clever push by their player pushing Watling into our own player. Never good seeing anyone stretched off though. Not sure whether or not Greenfield was intentionally taken out of the play, but if he was, where’s the retribution from our players? Players can’t be allowed to run your goalie without recompense
Well done lads for amazing effort, the CHL is over for now. No distractions going forwards.

Leavens cost us a goal in the first leg and aside from a few moments towards the end when the game was over, didn't do that much to my eyes. He's a definite goal scorer but is he willing to put in the work like most of the other players?smbmetal wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 9:33 pmWhat another great effort and we’ve done ourselves proud and surprised many people by even making the round of 16. Don't forget that we were playing against one of the best goalies in Europe, he was definitely their man of the match.smbmetal wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 9:33 pmWhat another great effort and we’ve done ourselves proud and surprised many people by even making the round of 16. Getting recruitment wrong or having players injured for a short time is unfortunately more of an issue this year with the new rules.
The overall number of players a team can use in one season has been reduced to 25 players (previously 29). This excludes injured reserve replacements and, new for this season, two-way players.
IR is also now 90 days instead of 28 days. So last year we would have probably replaced saucerman (temporarily) and the goalie already.
Also please may I be removed from the restricted list, moderating my boring posts will get boring

He had comfortably the worst +/- on his team the previous season which made me think he wasn't the best defensively.
Seasons prior to his last he hadn't been as poor on the +/-, so is he starting to slow down and finding it harder to track back?
I think he'll be OK on the 3rd or 4th line, but he's not a top line player for me.
