I’m sure the Crucible will be available to re-develop in a couple of years when the Snooker moves abroad?

I like most people don't like the price increase for parking price at the arena, but I have just bought a csr park ticket for the a Bruce Springsteen concert at the Co Op arena in Manchester and it cost £25.00, it makes you think, is it that bad.

Is it extortionate, yes. But I've also sadly come to the realisation that it's probably not that bad (relatively ) when you look at what it potentially covers - 5/6 hours parking (if arriving early enough), which equates to roughly £2.50 per hour. Definitely not cheap, but as someone mentioned earlier, it's comparable (if not better than some) to city centre carparks.
I've paid £15 to park for 3 hours at the theatres, and that's not just this last year or so, but a few years running now.
But this is where I want to see a bit of sense in regards to public transport - Hillsborough and the Arena are both on tram routes - why wouldn't you put on extra trams for events? I appreciate there's cost but this is where some joined up thinking is needed by councils. More using public transport means more chance of additional income spent at other businesses (city centre plus surrounding the venues). Less pollution from cars etc

I recently went to Manchester Arena. Their onsite car park didn’t seem too bad and neither east Newcastle when we went there - so some places can do it.
We didn’t use the car park at Manchester as the train worked better for us.

We now seem to be comparing one set of extortionate prices for another set elsewhere to justify the arena management following suite, we walked right into the trap of, oh well it's no higher than the other rip off merchants! So all is good

Ain't that just most areas of life though in general? Without getting political, we see it basically in every area of spend in our daily lives - food, housing, energy etc.
Unfortunately, there's next to nothing we can do, as some have no other options but pay or not go.
Is it a rip off, absolutely. Can we do much, no. It's just natural to then compare to other comparable services

Yeah, we have not options once we have paid for a season ticket, we need to park in the car park..I know many don't but plenty do, especially the disabled fan.Do we really think the price increase came after the season ticket deadline by coincidence?

It's clear Steelers are a big part of the arena, and it's also clear the new management doesn't give a crap about the fans. What should of happened is a bigger discount for season ticket holders, and they all should have had priority to get a car parking place.

Completely agree that the new arena management don't appear from the outside looking in to be interested in the Steelers fans, which was always my worry once the new owners were announced.FosterMel wrote: ↑Thu May 15, 2025 11:11 pmIt's clear Steelers are a big part of the arena, and it's also clear the new management doesn't give a crap about the fans. Thing is though, I can guarantee that the car park will be full for every game and guess what?........Because of that, the prices will increase again for the 2026/27 season as well
