Got a bit caught in a track meet in the 1st and came off worse. But can't really fault after that bar a couple of bad penalties - PK excellent again though.
Lines are starting to gel (Balmas line the best so far). Harper is going to score a ton going to the net on that line, but does some great dirty work on the boards too. Perfect foil to let the besties do their thing.
The Dowd line is starting to look horrible to play against - I like Jasper, pure snipe for his goal and good speed and work rate. The threat of Tait's speed means opposition can't cheat on any play and Dowd just keeps going.
Pu/Seitz/Juusola starting to pick up (it's still only 6 games in so no massive concerns). Pu is a monster - wins draws, blocks shots, great forecheck, makes plays, kills penalties the lot. Lovely turnover play for the Diffley goal - great pass from Seitz as primary assist.
4th just looks lovely and solid.
All D were pretty good, and Greenfield laid down a bit of a marker for best goalie debate.
Nottingham. Like Marcinew, and would have Matt Spencer everyday of the week. Pearson is obviously talented but I'm not sure he's got going yet.
Refs decent again.
On to tomorrow and potentially a 4 point weekend!

I thought we got better as the game went on.
1st period I felt we were fighting the puck with a lot of mis-controls. Dowd was the outstanding forward for me. Although not the best period, we were very good at faceoffs.
2nd period I thought we edged and 3rd I felt we were in control.
I thought special teams were quite good tonight.
I'm liking what Harper brings to the table. He's big and strong and picks up the dirty goals in front of net.
Pu is also growing on me. He's a bit in and out of the games, but I'm seeing more good moments from him.
Apart from over committing a few times in the 1st, I thought the defence was very good tonight.
It's looking like us or Cardiff for top spot in our group.

It's still very early doors, but before the games started there was one player from each of our main rivals who i would have loved on the Steelers team.
Yaremko in Cardiff - He's started very well for them and has arguably been their best forward.
Grasso in Belfast - I see he had a 5 point night for them yesterday.
Pearson in Nottingham - Oh dear! His signing was a real coup for them, with the numbers he was putting up he probably had good offers from some very good leagues. He should be the best of the lot, but I hardly noticed him last night. Has he come to Nottingham to play with his mates thinking this league is below him? One thing is for certain, unless he improves massively, he's not going to be close to my prediction of league top scorer.

Pearson is an odd one, but having only watched him properly once and given they're struggling generally it might not be a fair assessment yet.
He's obviously got loads of talent, and he's at a ppg so far (4 assists), so stats wise not terrible. But his body language for me looked off. We had a few who were concerned Pu was only here for his education, but given his work rate and willingness to block shots etc, I don't think that's a question any more. Pearson has said he's there because of Fossier - and the drop down from getting NHL games 3 years ago seems quite rapid. He might not have quite grasped just how important each game is seen here yet, or carrying a knock, but I do wonder if there's an ego/attitude issue there.
