What a absolute poor performance to put it mildly, players and management all guilty for being allowed to play like that, was struggling to stay awake during the game and worse part was cardiff were nothing special and still managed to put 4 past us and keep a clean sheet. Very poor league this year

Well that was the worst performance for 3 years!! Bowns has had the easiest SO ever for his club! we didn't lay a single finger on Cardiff for the WHOLE game!
I thought Tait worked his socks-off every shift! followed closely by Jasper but the rest????????????????

Will be interesting to hear Fox’s thoughts after that one.
Our only game of the weekend and we looked like it was our 7th game in 7 days!
Cardiff played well, but we were terrible. Only Tait who was easily our best player today deserves any credit. Not sure why Dowd was given the MOM?
All teams will have the odd bad game or so over a long season and we have been on a good run, but I am at a loss with this one.
A quick response is needed on Wednesday.

I've been criticised for saying we've been poor whilst getting wins, not much to add when the chickens come home to roost. We may still go on to challenge for trophies because no team is standing out yet but the quality of hockey and entertainment is sadly very poor/missing.
Poor on the ice to a man (some less than others) and not so from behind the bench. Splitting up the Harper/Pu combination to create that abomination tonight of Juusola(poor before his injury and shocking tonight), Pu and Balmas. Id give about three players 50% pass marks tonight for effort and desire.

Fox's post game comments were frankly ludicrous and laughable.smbmetal wrote: ↑Sun Nov 09, 2025 8:09 pmWill be interesting to hear Fox’s thoughts after that one.

As a devils fan I think we proved this weekend we have a squad which can challenge for silverware this year. Friday against Belfast we played very well and the scoreline flattered the Giants. We arrived in Sheffield three import forwards down today and ground out a shutout win. So we take 4pts this weekend against two teams capable of giving us a 0pt weekend. We may end up with nothing but it won't be through lack of trying. After our challenge cup exit we have stepped up in performance.

Didn't realise you were 3 imports down Welshcake. Certainly didnt look like it ! Devils played very well and this was shown by the fact that many steelers fans clapped them at the end instead of the usual banal booing.
Devils lost here a few weeks ago and the improvement was noticeable.

My son travelled 2 hours tonight to be at this game, frankly he waisted his time. Shame the team didn't bother to turn up. Worst hockey I have seen in a long time. Cardiff were good but we were beyond poor. Time to make some changes somewhere before we get to the Christmas rush.
