No doubt the best team won. For the most part I thought we played very well and kept the Panthers to the outside.
Panthers have a get out of jail free card with Pearson, who really should be playing in a better league (how much are they paying him?).
We also need to step up on the crucial faceoffs. The stats show we did ok, but on both powerplays we lost the first faceoff which basically cost us 50% of our powerplay.

Plus the first goal conceded was from a clean face off loss in our zone.Doom wrote: ↑Sat Nov 29, 2025 10:14 pmNo doubt the best team won. For the most part I thought we played very well and kept the Panthers to the outside.

Greener suggested the redirect was from a high stick. It was a bit high but obviously not too high, confirmed by review.
A good win for us, shame it had to be in OT.

Thanks but it clearly wasn’t too high. I would have thought anyone could see that.steeler pete wrote: ↑Sat Nov 29, 2025 11:01 pmGreener suggested the redirect was from a high stick. It was a bit high but obviously not too high, confirmed by review.

Big two points but it should have been all over before OT! thought we were the better team for most parts? Nottingham very lucky with their second goal, not sure I agree with the comments about Pearson? I was struggling to find him for most parts of the game? he did great for the tip in but can't say there was much more to his game.
Most important thing to come from the game was, Nottingham are not as good team a the league position shows, not saying we are better but it does demonstrate how tight the league is going to be this year!
If we defend like we did/can for the rest of the season, stay injury free and be better in the FO circle we should be ok!

Didn't look an exceptional talent to me. 18th in the player points standings would also suggest he's nothing special?
Wouldn't particularly want him in a Steelers shirt. Certainly don't think we've missed out on a signing that is for sure.

He comes across as a talented player slowed down by the weight of his ego and the need to check his reflection in the plexi as he skates past. If opposing clubs fitted a few extra large mirrors in their away dressing rooms I'm not sure he would see any ice time away from the NIC.
His past record suggests he's a big goal scorer.
Last season in the ICEHL he scored at a rate of 1 in 2, which put him joint top on his team in terms of goals per game. The ICEHL is a better league than ours and will pay much better.
The season before in Slovakia he scored 17+12 from 23 games with a +/- of +11.
To give that some context, Mitchell Heard on the same team was 13+19 from 43 games and -4.
I can't say i really noticed him much, but my pre season prediction for him was to be the leagues top scorer with 35 goals. He's currently got 7 from 10 games, which equates to a 38 goal season.
Whether people notice him or not, he's doing the business.
I'd certainly have him on our team.

Yep that one had us foxes lol - the only thing I could possibly see was a potential man in the crease when it went in - but was only stick - I couldn’t fathom it lol.
I did think we looked better in face off circle, but tbh we got late tickets and it was an AWFUL view… block 120 near the bottom - literally couldn’t see one third of the away end of the ice - terrible distortion from the plexiglass- really spoiled the game for us tbh.
