Logan Neilson is withholding his labour, or refusing to play or train, so essentially on strike... :hey:

More here:

I am sorry but any player doing that would be instantly dismissed, or playing down a league in the Steeldogs if I was running things...
I know it wont be as simple as that, but sounds like he is holding the club to ransom and that simply can not be allowed to happen.. no one player is bigger than the club...
For me Ivan Björkly-Nordström gets his place and Logan fights for his hockey life with the dogs... :wonder:

I thought he'd been on strike since the start of the season. 😃

Pretty poor from Neilson. Earn your ice time - Sam Jones did, Reece Kelly has. Nothing given in pro sport

I’m sure Logan wanted more minutes on the ice, I get that. But does he not realise he has to earn those minutes? If he has gone on strike similarly to Alexander Isak did at Newcastle, then I’ve lost all respect for the guy. I can’t say I’ve ever noticed him when he has had a shift, unlike Ivan BN, who has impressed on the few times he has iced for us. For me, even if he has a change of heart, he should never be allowed to wear a Steelers uniform again.

If he was good enough he'd be getting the ice time, clearly he's not as good as he thinks he is and can't handle it, all he's doing now is making himself look like a trouble causer to any other potential employees. Contracts go both ways, if he's not fulfilling his side then it is time to part ways.

I also think there's a bit of reluctance to bring up IBN full time given the Tremblay situation last year. He's the Dogs 2nd top point scorer and with them doing well in the league I think it's a bit of trying to help build up the Dogs in terms of fan numbers (winning hockey).

IBN will be a Steeler next year though, pretty sure of that

Perhaps this explains why Danny Stewart didn’t seem too fussed to lose him.

He was comfortably worst +/- for Notts last season and poor for us until he withdrew his labour.

IBN is doing very well for the Dogs and currently sits 9th top points scorer in the league.

It would be very harsh on the Dogs to bring him up to the Steelers full time, but I guess this is the whole idea of a development pathway.

We look much much better running the full 4 lines with IBN on it. Giving the Steeldogs priority over us makes no sense. Many times last night the fourth line looked disorganised as different imports rotated in and out of it.
As for Neilson, a very poor show from a professional who hasnt shown much at all. Was a panic signing when we lost Brandon i think.
We should get IBN in the line up full time now and get rid of that guy. There is no way back for him with the Steelers now.

Sounds to me like the club are being more than reasonable with him, trying to offer options and look for solutions.

I’d say he appears to be in breach of contract and will ultimately be the loser.

No club can be held to ransom like that. He’s not doing himself any favours, who would take him if that’s the way he behaves?

Bye bye Logan.

We don’t need disruptive players in the squad. Especially one’s who are bang average at best.
