After a rocky start in the Challenge Cup, McAdam seems to be finding his feet in the league.
The 3 league games he's played to date he's currently at 96.51%. That must be encouraging to Fox, knowing he can give Greenfield a rest and McAdam is a safe pair of hands.

Certainly a good reliable back up to greener,,,,Doom wrote: ↑Sun Nov 30, 2025 8:40 pmAfter a rocky start in the Challenge Cup, McAdam seems to be finding his feet in the league.

Actually watching the game as opposed to the stats I think our outskaters have to play differently in front of him. As long as they can do that it’s fine. They managed well tonight.Doom wrote: ↑Sun Nov 30, 2025 8:40 pmAfter a rocky start in the Challenge Cup, McAdam seems to be finding his feet in the league.

I don't think it's unusual for a team to have to adapt to a netminders style of play.
Whilst it's only a small sample and against the weaker teams in the league (Fife x 2 and Coventry x 1), it's still a positive that McAdam has performed in these games
He's currently at 1.28 goals against, which has given us a very good chance to win those games, which we did.
Last season we got to the stage that Fox didn’t trust his backup and had to work Greener incredibly hard. Hopefully this season he now feels confident to throw McAdam into the games against the lower ranked teams....that should also benefit Greener long term.
I wonder if we'll go again with McAdam on Saturday and Greener will get Dundee away.
After a fairly rocky start, it seems to be settling down now with McAdam backstopping us (he'll probably concede 6 now in his next game
).

Isn't greenfield part of the coaching team, ie goalie coach and as such has a significant say in who plays in nets and when... I am sure I read or heard this when he signed his 3 year deal?
which of course makes perfect sense when organising a defence on how to play in and around both Netminders...

I was initially disspointed in McAdam as I personally rate him as a good goalie. I'm pleased to see that my expectations are now being met. He even got an assist on our 5th goalDoom wrote: ↑Sun Nov 30, 2025 8:40 pmAfter a rocky start in the Challenge Cup, McAdam seems to be finding his feet in the league.

I thought it would be between us and Nottingham for the best 1A and 1B goalies. We appear to be ahead at the moment, although the Panthers have shared netminding duties in league play more that we have at the moment.
Steelers: League - Greenfield 92.07% (1 SO), McAdam 97.03% (0 SO).
Panthers: League - Carr 92.21% (0 SO), Grande 91.22% (1 SO).
