But we do pay them. The problem here, and I'm speaking as someone who mentors and develops officials in a different sport is that it looked to be a failure of process. A potential review declined for a major and then turning your back on the coach who has a player with a head injury bleeding all over the ice is not good officiating.

Enjoyed that game with good atmosphere as well,,,, good result but were made to work for it,,,, blaze are a well coached club who dont give you time on the puck and come at you for the full 60 and you can see why they give teams a hard time,,,,, poorly officiated game but we came through it and a good w/end,,,,,,

We didn’t play great but we battled out a win, despite the officials.
The refereeing of tonight’s game should be reviewed imo, it was poor from start to finish.

I dont often feel incensed enough to moan about the officials but some of the decisions and non calls or decisions not to act was bordering on incompetent... the boarding on Dougherty was an easy call to make and even easier to review if they somehow didnt see it... but refusing to even discuss their reasoning was pathetic in my opinion.. that decision alo e was bad enough but some of the blatant of the puck fowls commited by Coventry tonight that was missed or just not called was ridiculous.. honestly it was bizarre...

At any other time this season we would have lost that game. Great character win, big boys got us level (seriously, give Balmas and Ritchie whatever they want) and then Dougherty does his best Makar impersonation.
Less said about the officiating the better. Bad night for the stripes

There wasn't much contact made in the non boarding call to be honest and little to no intent to injure... but and here's the rub. there 100% WAS contact and a severe injury, there should at the very least been a review of the incident by the officials.. and thats what got the crowd going nuts, that and the sheer arrogance of the officials, in particular the two referees to not even consider the review.. and of course the turning the back on Dougherty and also Fox.
Please can someone clarify but isn't usual that when an injury as occurred there is a automatic review or the very least a review if the coach requests one?
The the referees disgusting behaviour afterwards should be up for discussion in my view..
This should at the very least go to D.O.P.S and for me to the league to review the officials reaction or lack of it.

By "pay" I mean pay more, to make it worthwhile for current refs to travel outwith their limited boundaries so there is more rotation of them throughout the league, and also make it a bit more attractive for future ones. Clan have had only two home games this season without Craig, Ferguson, or Halas. Virtually every game it's two of those three we're lumbered with, and I imagine it's much the same in other places too. Can't keep binging in more better players without also investing more into the officials as well, the pool of which has been virtually unchanged in over a decade. They're not going to get better by magic all on their own, clubs should collectively put more money into them, if it minimises player spend by a few %, I don't think most will mind if it delivers better officiating.
