I missed the 1st period as I was out umpiring my final game of Cricket this season but I saw the last two periods and I thought we had the better of the play. You can say Greenfield kept us in it at times but then so did the netminder for the Panthers, my sole concern is that I'd like to see someone else step up with the goal scoring, we have seemed dependent upon Balmas and while he's a great player if our threat is based on one person it makes us easier to close down and of course we are vulnerable to him getting injured. As for the rest of the teams, hard to judge Belfast as they get their usual easy start in a weak CC group but based on our result against the Flames and what they have just done to the Devils we are not too far away, very early days though. Anyone know what has happened with Ron Shudra ?, I've not seen any official comments and if he has moved on then something should have been announced ( apologies if there has been and I have missed it ) , Ron will always be Mr Sheffield Steelers for me and was a good a summariser as he was a player.

Re Ron Shudra, I think he’s a huge miss on the stream. Fearnley does a good job as the main commentator, but when Ron is there his humour and general knowledge of the game, makes the stream better value for money.

I know in the past he’s joined slightly later in the season due to helping out back home. Really hoping that is the case now.

I always wondered that he came on the stream simply to watch Cole play, if so, I wonder if he’s on Belfast’s stream?

If he has moved on from a co-commentator on the steam, I think the very least that could be done was for the club to announce that.

Out of curiosity were you at the game Bryan? , panthers started a bit better than us but nothing special, and just to let you know they didn't score. Then from halfway through the first for most of the rest of the game we were the better team and they actually went in front against the run of play.
Sorry slightly inelegantly written. I meant that we scored against the run of play. As for the rest I suggest you look at Tracking. Not my invention of course so don’t get at me if you don’t like it!

For the most part I thought the game was fairly even, although the first half of the 2+2 was dire. Even so, once we had equalised we started to believe and suddenly became dominant. In fact I thought we might well win the game in regulation. Anyway we got there in the end and I think we deserved to edge it. I believe this team has potential and if we do not win something this season it could well be down to coaching rather than the players. By that I mean the recruitment side of things seems pretty sound as per individuals but the coaching throughout the season will determine how we gel as a team

The tracking suggests Nottingham having the better of the 1st period, then early in the second we start strongly levelling things up on the tracking. It's then nip and tuck until the last 10 minutes, when we pull away.

Overall we were at 59% to win the game, but it was fairly even until the last 10.

We had 5 high danger chances to Nottingham's 4.

We had 19 mid danger to their 16.

We had 27 low danger to their 33.

I don't always see the game the same as tracking, but in this instance I do. I thought they edged the 1st, we edged the 2nd and the 3rd was close until the last 10 minutes. I didn't see the last 10 minutes, but tracking suggests that was probably our strongest part of the game.

Regards

I’m pretty sure Ron was still doing the commentary when Cole was playing for Leeds.
