Steelers do score! Terrible from the Storm, shorthanded from Kevin Schulze. 2-3.

Game over. Storm take it 2-3.
Poor discipline costing us in the 3rd and you can’t do that against against a good PP. Need to sort that before the playoffs.
Had enough chances to win the game but poor finishing and quiet performances from our offensive players such as Kirk & Dowd not helping in that regard.
Storm just working hard in the defensive zone and bullying us physically.
Warburton again MOTM as without him it’d have been done & dusted long before it was.
MOTM for Storm keeper Bonar in my opinion also.
Two losses on the spin, need to find more performance levels & discipline.

Can’t agree wit the poor discipline comment. Erhardt deserves an Oscar for his trip. Mikyska battled for a bobbling puck and was called hooking??

Thought Connollys trip was clear. Agree on the phantom hook but no excuse for taking a misconduct ever.steeler pete wrote:Can’t agree wit the poor discipline comment. Erhardt deserves an Oscar for his trip. Mikyska battled for a bobbling puck and was called hooking??

Easy to say when you’re not in the thick of it. What I don’t understand is why they let so much go for 55 mins then called a dubious one. why?
Call it as you see it but that has to be a questionable one. No?
Anyway I’ve calmed down now. We lost the game, a good one other than that. So I’ll move on.

I mean it was Hogarth, his fingerprints are usually all over a game. Usually affects in in some way and he did there.steeler pete wrote:Easy to say when you’re not in the thick of it. What I don’t understand is why they let so much go for 55 mins then called a dubious one. why?

He’s not fit to officiate the pro level and has been shown up by some of the younger, inexperienced officials in this series. He is yesterdays man.

That was a fairly entertaining game decided by poor officiating in the final minutes. The refs had let the game flow and then to call that? Ron commented on the potty mouth coming from Finner and directed at the officials, how come that wasnt a bench penalty?
Still things to build on ready for the play off. Move on to Tuesday.

This Steelers team is similar to last years. When they are in full flight and offence is going well, its easy and they look a million dollars. However when it's a close game they don't have the grit and ability to play percentage hockey and get garbage goals. Then you have Conns who was moving swiftly from rink rattery to bone headed stupidity and was lucky not to be penalised more.
As a unit we are very soft and weak in our d zone. Too many times we were caught on the wrong side of the puck in our own end.
