Im not sure the player who is seriously injured, because I would be surprised if that doesn't happen someday as a result of Springer, will be happy that DOPS waited until someone was properly injured before doing something about him.

It was a late, needless, reckless, dangerous hit and I suspect his thinking at the time was im going to get this sucker rather than thinking this is a trully needed hockey play at this moment of the game.

No surprise there. Just happy DOPS didn’t attempt to squeeze us for more.

We now have 2 out of just 3 suspensions so far this season.

Seen it, suspension deserved. That is not acceptable behaviour.

Apology from DeLuca ( via Twitter )

"I’d like to apologize for my actions last night, in the heat of the moment I let my emotions get the better of me. It was dumb and instantly regretted. I am truly sorry for my actions and lack of professionalism."

We can all screw up but in apologising quickly and publicly DeLuca has acted with integrity and has shown respect for the game. Perhaps some others should take note.

I saw the kick during the game and hoped I was mistaken. When it came up in the game thread I realised I was right. There’s no excuse.

I hope his apology is genuine and that he also apologises to his teammates who now have to go into Guildford without him.

Prior to the fixture v us, Kyle Haas of Dundee was fined an undisclosed amount for his match penalty in the Guildford game in Saturday.

He will now be considered a repeat offender.

I saw the gamesheet for the Blaze v Flames game pop up on twitter (https://eihlhq.co.uk/pdf/print/de-html/2413) and it looks like lots of penalties at the end of that game. I think the Steelers will be keeping an eye on DOPS this week as it looks likely Blaze will be without at least Broll and possibly Clements for the game on Weds (and probably a few more games after that!)

Haven't seen any highlights, only posts on forums and twitter, so don't have any first hand info on what happened at the end of that game.

Wouldn’t bet on it though with DOPS, wouldn’t be at all surprised if Coventry were at full-strength Wednesday evening.

As for what happened, Flames netminder Lindskoug made a huge save on the buzzer securing the win then gave it large celebrating in front of Coventry players (for which he received a 10 minute misconduct).

Then basically the Blaze lost it and started going after him, Broll went in for 2nds after being told to leave the ice.

Fantastic! Love a bit of the old, old school hockey! Give me that any day than drab games against Fife (no disrespect meant to Fife).

That incident will likely create a bit of rivalry for their next game too. Brilliant!
