I’ve not been to the game as I’m not wasting money on loads of CC games.

I’ve seen Manchester a few times this season and I have no issues the way they play. Ice hockey is a tough sport and if the Steelers players don’t like it, then they’re in the wrong sport. I think it creates a better atmosphere in the arena and some natural rivalry instead of the manufactured one against the Panthers.

Not standing up for teammates grinds my gears I’m afraid.

I would much rather watch a rough and tough game against Manchester than a stale passive game against other opponents. Great that they got booed off as well, as they’ll make it even tougher next time.

As for the injuries we do have an option of placing players on the injured reserve list and try and bring in short term replacements if available, which doesn’t count as a change etc. We’re also not the only club who have injuries and a short bench.

I still think our average age does not help us being more susceptible to injuries.

I like to see players stick up for themselves. I don’t see the benefit of losing a player for sticking up for his team mates unless he’s on the spot and doesn’t go OTT.

The way to punish a team for the rough stuff is to outscore them and win the game, which we did last night.

Plenty of sides struggling with injuries already, no surprise to anyone with a 19 man roster as maximum with limited roster changes allowed.

It’ll be a vicious cycle as clubs take normal hockey impact injuries and then compounded by overuse and fatigue related injuries in 3 line hockey teams.

Just watch the highlights but the hit on Latal isn’t shown? Perhaps that will be saved for the DOPS video?

Steelers have a history of not sending/requesting review of incidents with DOPS, will be interesting to see if that changes with this incident

Don't you have to send the request through the same night or within 24 hours? Plus it costs like £250 (if not more) per review?

If so, that ship has sailed as McNulty played at Guildford last night.
Hockey fan since 1980, Steeler since day one.

Wouldn’t it be an automatic review according to the DOPS rules?

AUTOMATIC REVIEWS
DOPS will automatically review the following situations that occur within any EIHL sanctioned game;

All Match penalties.
All Major and Game Misconduct penalties.
All Checking to the Head or Checking from Behind penalties.
All Misconducts and Game Misconducts.
Abuse of Official penalties.
Any ‘extraordinary situations’ (before, during or after the game) that are reported by the Match Night Officiating Team.
All injury situations regardless of on-ice call.

What’s posted on the website and what actually gets reviewed is wildly different I’d imagine.

Remember after the Fretter incident we got those two guys running DOPS from the EBEL which lasted about 3 months, not heard from them since Image

I couldn't make it on Saturday unfortunately, as I am just getting over a bout of tonsillitis. I was really hoping to get there though. The wife was looking forward to the Halloween aspect too, as I said to her though always next year. Hopefully we will be able to go this weekend though.

I haven't had chance to watch the highlights yet (my head has been fuzzy for over a week) so I haven't been able to concentrate on too much, but from reading here it seems like the Steelers did well to see the game out, especially if the referees didn't have the best of games. Hopefully the bench isn't too depleted and it doesn't affect the forthcoming results.

It was good to see the win on the board though when I checked the results.

Hello everyone by the way, will be nice to chat to you all. I couldn't see an introduce yourself thread, so figured I'd add it onto the end of here.
