Aalborg are in good form and are playing with a lot of confidence. They have won their last 5 in domestic competition and it’s 10 games since they were beaten in regulation.

It took them overtime to beat bottom feeders Rødovre Mighty Bulls in their most recent fixture, which, according to the match report, contained “several defensive blunders”.

They’ve been playing short 3 line hockey recently.

Canadian D man Ian Edmonson is unavailable as he is back home after a family bereavement.

In the Aalborg preview of the Steelers, they note the large NHL experience of Keaton Ellerby amounting to 218 games, as well as the fact 7 of our roster have Danish MetalLigaen experience.

Former Steelers Head Coach Paul Thompson coached the Pirates in 14/15 and is the current Head Coach of 2nd bottom Odense Bulldogs. One would imagine the club will have reached out to him for insiders. Although His club have lost 3 out of 3 v Aalborg so far this season.

Aalborg will offer a slick, speedy transitional game typical of Scandinavian sides, they’ll go back to front quick. They have a strong powerplay so discipline is important, especially with European officials in charge. They’ll take a dim view of some of the slashing & hooking stick infractions we’d consider innocuous in the EIHL. They won’t offer much of a physical challenge so it’ll really be skill v skill which may play into a Fox style.

Considering the lowly position of his current employers I wouldn't have thought either team would feel the need to ask for any insight from the 'Best Coach in the whole Universe '

Getting back to the hockey. I hope the on ice stuff goes well today. Its a shame that we are carrying injuries galore not helped by this years squad rules.

Brust starts in net tonight.
No Vallerand, Eberle or Dowd tonight (and possibly for the whole weekend)

DeLuca-Valdix-Jono
Sointu-Hodgman-Mosey
Latal-Connolly-Armstrong
Whistle - Graham

Lines confirmed for tonight's game - noticed on Elite Prospects that Whistle and Graham's names are on the squad list as well as Warburton. Not sure if they (Whistle and Graham) have actually travelled with the team though.
