Another top performance from the team, well done! Anyone know what the current situation with Valdix is? I would have thought he would be over his illness by now!!

I think his deal only covered an extra week after the Continental Cup, so I’m not even sure if he’s still on our books. Although he is noted on our team roster on the official game sheet so that would suggest he’s still registered at least.

One other point that comes out of this weekend concerns the goalie situation. We have it seems arrived by accident with two first choice overseas goalies. So brust gets a ban but it doesn’t affect us. I thought rock played very well tonight. Not sure the result would have been the same with a real backup netminder in. No offence meant to warburton but he is way below rocs standard.

Fox said that Valdix is still here and that he has spoke with him at quite a bit over the last week and has to evaluate the situation to see if he can fit him into the team..

I think Warburton’s got great potential. Has he had the coaching and experience Rok has? Comparison is unfair in my opinion.

I prefer the two import goalie strategy, which has worked well for us this season so far. However, I would imagine it would be even harder for British goalies to develop under this scenario.

I use the old adage, if they're good enough they will play. Developing at the Steelers will be difficult as they're unlikely to get in regular game time. They would need to prove themselves elsewhere.

In the current climate Brit goalies must go abroad to further their careers, won’t cut the EIHL level if not. The infrastructure and ice time isn’t available here at good enough levels.
