Actually we have been in this situation all season. For medical reasons we could not take the considerable risk of Covid. I write to steelers before the season started. Our money had been with them since the previously aborted year. I said we were going to have to use streaming. We have done this fir every game. So we are paying twice. I asked if they could help with this.

Not to get answer from a genuine question is extremely unprofessional.
Unfortunately I think Steeler’s hand will soon be forced. Best we can hope for is a break for a month and a reduced schedule.
Playing behind closed doors won’t work financially.
On the face of it this seems like a reasonable and sensible suggestion but the realty I feel is that it requires a lot more thought and consideration in the wider context of how COVID is and will affect the sport this winter.
Offering this to season ticket holders would reduce attendance, allow more space and possibly reduce transmission but, if st fans aren’t willing to attend why would pay on the day? A reduction in ticket sales would the put clubs potentially in financial difficulties. A webcast does not offer the same as a live event and would not attract the same revenue.
We are seeing games postponed now due to virus spread, how will this impact?
The Government seem reluctant to close down social/sporting events but there are no guarantees this will continue.
How would other clubs respond? Would they want access for travelling fans with tickets who would prefer to watch at home?
With these questions and uncertainty I think this is not a suggestion that could get a quick response.
They will miss even more secondary spend if people think it's unsafe to attend and then don't get a webcast unless they pay again. Nothing wrong with saying a season ticket can be both a physical seat and a webcast providing there is a simple way of ensuring it is one or the other for each game.
This is unlikely to be the last Covid variant and as it often gets worse in Winter making such a scheme viable is more likely to retain season ticket holders next year.
