Looking at this for me right now it’s advantage Belfast.

It's certainly advantage Giants no doubt. The title is very much in our own hands though.
IF we win our game in hand we'd be 5 points clear and could lose 2 games of the 5 against them and still be ok.
My concern is from what I've seen from this team in 2022, I've not seen any indications that we have enough to beat Belfast more than twice in our 5 games against them.
Positive signs are that Fox has found a way most of the season to grind out results consistently. Our home game against Cardiff on Sunday will be a good indication.

I can see from those stats how you would say that, but if there is one thing we have learned over the years in hockey, is that it rarely goes totally as expected..
There is a lot of hockey left to play and all the teams can take points from each other.. And those towards the bottom of the playoff points standings wont roll over just because Belfast of Sheffield want them to.
No there isn't chance of that happening! I. Would say our head to heads against Belfast are the most significant matches yet to be played.. The rest are sure to throw up a few surprises...

Belfast are the best side in the division, they score the most goals and concede the least. But as smbmetal notes it is all in our hands.
It will require us to beat Belfast multiple times which with our tendency for defensive errors could be an issue.

It might look like advantage Giants on paper, but the game is played on ice, one bad bounce, one lucky deflection, one missed call can decide a title, if you doubt that just remember the end of the last F1 season, one bad decision handed the title to the second best driver in the race. Belfast would swap positions with us in a heartbeat as would every other team in the league. I wouldn't swap our position with Belfast.
