This might be a little complicated, due to the covid situation and then the resultinging lack of a season, initially he signed for 2 years I believe, then during the Covid layoff and no hockey and just before the EIHL mini tournament I believe he extended the initial 2 years he signed to 3 or worded has 2 season of actual hockey since a year was missed, if that makes sense. All that would lead to the fact that maybe his contract is up at the end of this season and therefore an extension of another year or two would be a welcome announcement.

Might just be me but I think those sorts of things should be announced after the conclusion of the season?Jayboy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 10:38 pmThis might be a little complicated, due to the covid situation and then the resultinging lack of a season, initially he signed for 2 years I believe, then during the Covid layoff and no hockey and just before the EIHL mini tournament I believe he extended the initial 2 years he signed to 3 or worded has 2 season of actual hockey since a year was missed, if that makes sense. I can't argue that point @Nathan I was just recounting events as I remember them, I think maybe the extension was announced after the season that didn't happen...Nathan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 23, 2022 10:40 amMight just be me but I think those sorts of things should be announced after the conclusion of the season?Jayboy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 10:38 pmThis might be a little complicated, due to the covid situation and then the resultinging lack of a season, initially he signed for 2 years I believe, then during the Covid layoff and no hockey and just before the EIHL mini tournament I believe he extended the initial 2 years he signed to 3 or worded has 2 season of actual hockey since a year was missed, if that makes sense. Think Fox signed a 3-year deal initially so would be up for renewal now.

whatever he initially signed, I am sure there was news that he extended deal or agreed new terms during the Covid lockdown...SteelerBlade wrote: ↑Wed Mar 23, 2022 3:13 pmThink Fox signed a 3-year deal initially so would be up for renewal now.

I think the press conference day was a bit strange. The arena news is fantastic of course. However it was said that there would be lots of exciting news released throughout the day but to my knowledge the arena deal was the only thing.
With regards to Fox the end of this season would be his three year deal end if included the missing season but I think they announced he would do an extra year due to the missed year.

I'm guessing that whatever the announcement was hit a last minute hitch of some kind. Either that or it's a previous offender playing games.paul johnston wrote: ↑Thu Mar 24, 2022 5:52 amI think the press conference day was a bit strange. The arena news is fantastic of course.
