Belfasts championship coronation takes place today I’m afraid.
No doubt the whitehouse will be belting out Sweet Caroline when we’re 3 goals down.

Realistically I agree the league title's not likely coming our way but I can't just concede yet. As unlikely as it seems for us to beat them twice it could still happen and I think we all need to keep that in mind. It will require an almighty effort and probably for Piccinich to be misfiring.
At the very least let's have enough guts, pride and determination not to let it happen this afternoon. At least not with a whimper! I want to see us angry and vocal at anything anti-Steeler until the fat lady has sung!

There would be a number of times we’d look bad and say what if, bottling the Dundee double header and following up with a Fife loss would’ve seen us through.Bryan wrote:Belfast are going to win the league title. But I’m plagued by the thought that if we hadn’t dropped all those points against lower teams we would have too much in the bag for Belfast. But that wouldn’t be right. Giants are clearly a better team.
If we could take penalty shots etc etc etc. We won’t need wholesale changes whatever happens but we do need to get better as a squad.

Same here we can’t go into this game thinking they’ve already won the league they haven’t. Play at our best which we wasn’t last night and we are quite capable of beating them and have proved it twice this season already.steeler pete wrote: ↑Sun Apr 10, 2022 10:48 amRealistically I agree the league title's not likely coming our way but I can't just concede yet. I just wish we had players that could get in Belfast’s faces as they don’t have an out and out tough guy. If I was Ellerby I would be all over the likes of Picnic.
Come on Steelers it’s not over yet.

It’s more a Belfast side in Fox’s image rather than Keefe’s which I’ve been surprised by. Serving them well though a very fast, slick and skilful outfit.smbmetal wrote:Same here we can’t go into this game thinking they’ve already won the league they haven’t. We name an unchanged 20 man game sheet.
Stokanovič starts.
Traversa is named.
We are without Connolly, Todd, Feldner, Graham, Warburton & Shudra.

Belfast name 18.
The only change is Kevin Raine being injured after blocking a shot last night.

Well sat in the arena wondering how the game will go. Have we got the bottle and desire to get the W tonight.
Giants can play a passive defensive game initially especially if we push for quick, early goals, and can then look to score on the counter attack.
It's going to be tough and will need a full 60 minute performance out of the team.
We need and frankly owed some big performances from some big name, big CV players.
