The rest of the voting really did not look good with the noticeable exception of forwards Branden whistle, Brendan Connolly and Defenders Adrian Saxrud Danielsen and Daine Todd who all managed to get 20+ votes.

Justin Hodgman, John Armstrong, Tommaso Traversa, Matias Sointu and Kevin Schulze will need a miracle to have impressed Aaron Fox if a fans perspective is to be believed..

No votes at all for Barry Brust and Keaton Ellerby!!

Just listened to Fox speaking to Pete Spencer.

I usually enjoy listening to Fox, although for most of his interview, it just sounded like excuses.

He talks about missing DeLuca & Connolly. Both those players were unavailable MONTHS ago. He then justifies that by saying that there weren't any good replacements available. Yet he brings Feldner in who looked promising to me and certainly better than Traversa but plays about 2 games! Surely you would have checked if he had national team games/commitments coming up before bringing him in? Sorry, I don't buy there's no one available, recruitment has not been good enough. Barry Brust being another example. Coming in as unfit as that was unprofessional and he should have been sent home (which many of us said at the time), uni deal or no uni deal.

Referees were poor in Dundee, guys playing hurt etc.

Well we should be taking a bigger lead into Dundee, seeing as we had the option of playing first.

I'm afraid I don't accept losing to a 7th place team over two legs. Injuries or not. As soon as things like that are accepted you win nothing.

I really hope some lessons have been learned here, as another season like this as mentioned by a couple of others already, Fox will not see out his 3 year contract in Sheffield.

Covid and underlying medical conditions meant we watched this season home and away on live streams and paid for it all twice! (No reply from club when I asked for help on this) I think this makes you see the game differently. The replays of course, commentary analysis and a higher viewpoint all contribute.

So my overwhelming feeling is that we were frequently cost by poor decision making and game management rather than necessarily a lack of skill or effort. Here are a few much repeated mistakes.

One goal up in the third and we activate all five. An easily intercepted cross ice pass leads to an odd man rush against us down the centre and a goal. We lose control of the game.

Thoughtless and pointless penalties in the offensive zone especially when in front give away the initiative and control of the game.

Long stretch pass when opponents are blocking out the centre having spotted our tactic. Again a goal against.

In control (wow this one was in spades last night at 3-1 up). Rash penalties in close succession completely turns a game we were winning against us.

Statistical evidence is our huge number of games going to overtime, (far more than any other team) in games we had a lead in.

I could bore you even more. The common feature is poor decision making and especially poor game management. You are 1 or 2 goals up. No need to take risks. Wait for them to do it..

Who takes the blame for such a repetitive pattern?

Big recruitment challenge for next season and it needs to reflect the Steelers way of playing. No more over the hill/last playing year imports. More young with energy and will to win. Recognise Jono is at the end of his career and should not be resigned and the place offered to an emerging Brit. Of course we need more aggression currently down to Davey, Tanner and Rob Dowd. They need some size in support to protect the skilled players. I do fear that more soft hockey will see fans drift away with nothing to stimulate them to attend. We need the energy and spectacle back.

What are the chances of re-signing De Luca?

Would depend on if he’d accepted punishment from UKAD before he left to the US, and the length of ban to be served in that case.
