We have re-signed 6”1” British eligible forward Brandon Whistle to a 2 year, 1-way contract.
The 24 year old iced 33 times for us last season, impressing after coming away from Leeds full time.
Overall he has 93 EIHL appearances to his name after first playing for us in the Paul Thompson era.

Happy to see him back he really deserves his place.
He says he signed some time ago, so am a bit disappointed we didn’t know about it sooner. Drip feeding news like this at this stage takes the edge off it as we’re all waiting for a big new signing.

I agree with all of that Pete. This drip-feeding nonsense grinds my gears.steeler pete wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 8:47 amHappy to see him back he really deserves his place.

Excellent news - as has been stated elsewhere, he was keeping imports in the stands with his performances last season; hopeful we see more of the same and potentially even more.
Would expect he'll start as third line center.

A guy who found out he didn't have what it takes at EIHL level, went away and worked his arse off until he had the missing ingredients. That determination is always a great indicator of their work ethic. He will do for me. Good signing.
Absolutely! This is why I'm a believer that if the Brits are good enough, they will play. No need for an import rule at all IMO.

What a turn around in his young career, when he first came to Steelers he was out his depth, we all saw that, some of us even questioned his desire to even want to play Hockey.
The way he's come back from that is a massive credit to him not only as a person but a hockey guy who "wants" it he's gone away fought hard at the lower level, put up decent points, battled hard & he's got his rewards, I'm absolutely thrilled for the kid, he's proved alot of doubters wrong - me included as I never in a million years expected to see him not only in Orange but in the EIHL all together.
Welcome home Brandon.
