I’m not fussed about age for me it’s fitness, if we’re the oldest but as fit or fitter than the rest then that’s no issue. All about Fox doing his due diligence as to how the experienced players are looking after themselves.
Experience is valuable, especially at higher levels of hockey, and the EIHL is a tough sell to those in the prime of their careers.

Just as a bit of fun, in the NHL the average team age over the last 20 years or so to win the Stanley Cup has only been over 30 twice.

I would agree that there's no substitute for experience, however that didn't work at all for us last season and our average age for me was a significant contributing factor to our injuries.
I don't want players to come over for a last payday. We need hunger and drive. Fox has already said that this league could be a stepping stone into higher leagues, 'experienced' players are unlikely to want to play at a higher level as they'll have been there and done that.

The post reads as an announcement on either a goalie, D man or forward not all three, although I’d much prefer all three it sounds as though it will be one of the three announced, hope I’m wrong!

Östlund is a 30 year old 6”1” Swedish netminder, product of the Brynäs IF system in his homeland.
He iced his first pro hockey in 15-16 in the Norwegian Eliteserien with Storhamar Hamar where he stayed for 4 seasons putting up nice numbers.
More recently he’s played in the Swedish SHL, German DEL and cross-border ICEHL.
Last season he iced just 3 times for Hungarian ICEHL side Fehérvár AV19 before joining DEL side Augsburger Panther.
The 3 games last year is interesting, may provide good value on wages for us if this is indeed true.
He’s a former teammate of Justin Hodgman
