Who would you have kept / released out of all the imports (forwards and defenceman)?Brian wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 10:58 amI agree Jayboy. The defence started well but fell apart a bit at the end. Re signing Deluca...some may see as a doubtful precedent concerning players who have been cut for drug reasons...for me, he wasn't actually doing a lot before the incident.
Connolly is Connolly and a motivating player on the ice if he is fit.
For a team that couldn't make the playoffs, I think as our poll suggested, that we need to change more players than we keep , import wise at least.

I liked Todd before his injury and obviously Latal was a superstar. Shultz is ok by me burmt both Ellerby and ASD are physically large players who don't play tough enough for me and seemed reluctant to step up and protect our smaller Brits when they were bullied by the opposition. We had the embarassing sight of Alex Graham and Dowdy stepping up to fight with the huge frames of those two looking on or skating back to the bench quietly.
Yes I know Dowdy is very tough and strong but he doesn't have the heavy build as they do.
I would have kept Stoyanovich as at least a backup on his figures alone which were something like the 3rd best in Steelers history.

It's a no from me for deLuca; he wasn't doing much prior to his getting caught out. I think him as a lazy one way player.JoeySlats#13 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 12:43 pmDeLuca and Eberle returns not ruled out after the season has started according to Bob W

Eberle would be a yes; didn't have his best season last time around. I do get fed up with the annual 'I want to put myself out there' process. If he's desperate to walk, let him go. If he's committed to the Steelers, he'd be looking to get signed up.
Import import Latal
Import Import Eberle
Dowd Import Mosey
Import Whistle Phillips

So far I make the team something like this. Do wonder if the players we’ve been linked with make this side capable of competing with the likes of cardiff and Belfast if they field teams as strong as last year. Need at least 2 probably 3 marquee signings to be in with a shot of silverware next season and none of the names I’ve seen have been that quality

It’s a no from me too. We need new and fresh blood. If Eberle wants to go then let’s gets someone in who wants to be here.raetiamann wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 4:26 pmIt's a no from me for deLuca; he wasn't doing much prior to his getting caught out. I hope we’ve signed a stud goalie.
I'll be disappointed if we sign any of DeLuca, Connolly or Ellerby.
Connolly was very good, but to me he looked like his standards were starting to dip before his injury. He's far too much of a risk for my liking.
DeLuca was very average before his suspension. For the right money I could live with him signing, but wouldn't be particularly enthused.
Ellerby was decent, but with his pedigree I expected more.
I think we can do better than all 3 above and if they do sign it would be lazy recruitment on the part of Fox.

Eberle won't be back for the start of the season even if he does come back, can't see Dowd not in a top 6 role either. And I think Whistle proved himself capable of being a third line center, obviously we'd have more strength if we could have him as 4th line and an upgraded 3rd line but I would be happy to see him on the 3rd. He could possibly be wasted on the 4th depending who else is on that line.Daniel14 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 6:45 pmImport import Latal
