Following a great win against Giants, this is the sort of game some previous Steelers teams would have tripped over. So, funnily enough, maybe a good test for this side who look to be made of sterner stuff.
A good call Bryan. Always a game with a high chance of tripping over.

8,700 in attendance! Wow.

I must admit I thought the excellent effort of last night would continue into this game and be too much for Glasgow who could barely string 3 lines together.

I have to say I’m disappointed with the performance, perhaps it was a game too far with the magnificent effort against Belfast and allowing for what the players have been through over these past few weeks.

We do appear to struggle with teams that set up defensively and block the lanes, we might have had lots of shots but the majority even I could have saved.

I thought our disallowed goal was a good goal, but couldn’t tell when the ref blew the play dead watching the stream. Cormie looks a decent signing and he skates very well.

Can’t win them all. With all things considered we’ve had an excellent start to the season and the team deserve all the plaudits and we’re still top of the league :thumb:

I might go against the tide here but there was a hot goalie and absolutely No lack of effort tonight from the lads, They out on their feet at the end, they left every last part of themselves on the ice at the end..

And I never ask more than that, with a bit of luck and the odd good bounce, we could have won that 3 or 4 to 1

Same old same old Beat Giants and lose to a Scottish team. Year after year after year. Real weakness, Fox.

Game On

Normally i would be really going on that they beat belfast then lose to a team that they would be expected to beat. But have to give some slack here to the lads. After all recent events they must be mentally fatigued plus they did put the effort in. Any team is capable of beating any other team on a given night. Key thing is consistency over season, this is 1 game

Always going to be a reaction to how things have been for the players over the last couple of weeks and maybe the tank was empty, this could have gone to o/t but just not today. No complaints.

I can’t agree with that assessment. That doesn’t credit Clan enough. They battled hard, blocked the lanes and frustrated our plays very well, their goalie made some very good saves.

I do think we had a little less energy and the luck deserted us.

I think there was some strange officiating in to the boot. The puck crossed the line at the end I’d be interested to know why it was washed out on review.

Very frustrating.

We were robbed of at least one point tonight by the officials.

One of the ref's was gesturing a pushing action to AF when explaining his decision.
I think Fox was saying any pushing was after the puck had crossed the line.
That's what it looked like to me and from the noise in the arena about 8,000 others, but I haven't got a replay, so just relying memory from the big screen.

From where we sit we could see the puck cross the line quite clearly. The Nettie was scrabbling around on the ice. The replay from a similar but higher angle confirmed this. A stripey from behind the net gestured with the washout signal but there is no way he could have seen the puck. I assumed that he had wrongly thought the Nettie had the puck. The stripeys were then extremely unwilling to review but eventually conceded. I thought it was obvious they weren’t going to change the decision even though they then came up with a different reason. Something to do with an ‘incorrect poke check’ It all felt rather unsatisfactory. However I don’t really feel Steelers could complain. They were poor tonight. Passing was off all evening and a lot of poorly judged plays in defence. By the end they were no longer a team with players all trying to do too much themselves. I love 14 but he was particularly guilty of this. I am a great supporter of Fox but he does seem unable to grab hold of a losing situation and change things. We just went on doing the all night and it was never satisfactory. On the bright side I thought our new defender was excellent. He skates extremely well and judges nicely when to commit forward.

Rubbish. On another night we win that game 5-0. Too many people just go on the score line rather than how we played the game.

We could have done no more tonight in terms of effort. Could we have been a bit more clinical? Absolutely but again, another night and it’s a routine victory in my eyes.

Just one of those nights in sport

Plenty of effort, but we gave the puck away so many times while we were attacking. Initially, I was disappointed but since coming back from the terrible incident we have done far better than I expected. I also want to credit Clan for closing us down so well. On reflection I'm going to shrug this one off and move on.
