Lord must have expected some push back though - were his team prepared for that?JoeySlats#13 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 12:06 pmto be fair they had nothing to change they won 7-3 i'm sure they just wanted to replicate that. whereas we had everything to change after a performance like that in such an important game.Ron 25 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 12:04 pmWhilst I don't think this team are quite the finished article, I think they demonstrated what teamwork can achieve. Combining their goalscoring abilities with a desire to win a trophy made them difficult to beat. It also seems to me that Fox learnt more from Friday than Lord did, which bodes well for the future. Massive congratulations to both on and off-ice teams.
Fox definitely deserves huge credit though, to turn the lads round to put in that performance was excellent!

I'm sure they didn't expect the first period pace and physicality that we showed (neither did we) but they dominated the 2nd and the 3rd was fairly even so I think we surprised them at the start but they did take over the game for a good period. I'm sure they were ready for a big Steelers fight back.Ron 25 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 1:03 pmLord must have expected some push back though - were his team prepared for that?JoeySlats#13 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 12:06 pmto be fair they had nothing to change they won 7-3 i'm sure they just wanted to replicate that. whereas we had everything to change after a performance like that in such an important game.Ron 25 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 12:04 pmWhilst I don't think this team are quite the finished article, I think they demonstrated what teamwork can achieve. A huge well done to the boys and Fox, totally deserved it after Friday. Nice to see Jono lifting another trophy after a tough last season
it's been a long time coming but it was well worth the wait! The winning moment was something special, and some of the guys first pro piece of silverware!! Still the most decorated team, hopefully this will boost our confidence and we will have the same success next yr
