GAME THREAD: Flames v Steelers: Sun 16th Nov

Haven’t got the stats but that was much better. Am I only in being frustrated by this team. They can play well but often don’t or not for long enough. Last night was a very hard watch against a poor side.

Not watching the game so can’t comment on that, but I feel like the common theme is we’re missing “desire/heart” guys - Saucerman a big loss, Ciampini, Whistle (tho I wasn’t his biggest fan), Simpson et al. I feel bad for Seitz actually - I know he wasn’t putting the puck in the net but thought he was doing the other things pretty well. I don’t think the rotation/scratching players is helping with this group. Is it maybe just a confidence thing at the moment?

The being bullied theme is a frustrating one, we have some decent size up and down the line up - Tansey, Southorn, Shudra, Heard, Huttula, Kelly, Harper, Dougherty and smaller guys who can be physical - Dowd, Tremblay, Jasper - we shouldn’t be getting or taking being knocked around - no excuse on that front.

Fingers crossed on the 3rd.

It was poor, but there was 100% a retaliatory penalty on their player as well. I don’t normally comment on the officiating, but that was shocking and ultimately cost us.

Totally agree on this occasion, a stupid play, that probably cost us a regulation win... the officials didnt help though...
