Steelers look tired to me, sloppy passing and second to most of the 50/50 battles..

Steelers take an interference penalty.
Schulze to the box.
Panthers defending excellently and we’re struggling to provide an answer.

Muse to the bench, full length EN. Talbot-Tassi seals it.
3-5.

Panthers take game one 3-5, and deservedly so.
They played with much more energy, were first to loose pucks & won most of the battles.
Steelers looked disjointed & leggy.
Panthers in the 3rd did something we simply cannot do, shut up shop. They just smothered our speed & transition & physically outmuscled us.
We have to be better tomorrow or this will be over in 2.

Well that was disappointing. Outplayed all game. The stretch passes weren't happening, missing sticks or intercepted. So easy possession given away. Then barely won a face off. Not much physicality. Big name forwards bar Dowd and Mikyska were generally absent, but when had a few great goal scoring chances missed.
Panthersjust looked like a team to me.
Will need to up our level of play and intensity massively tomorrow to stand a chance.

Kirk gets a pass from me as he’s probably not 100% (and was anonymous because of it), Connolly has probably been the most disappointing, probably had 2 games where he was any good.paul johnston wrote:Well that was disappointing. I maintain that the extra day’s rest the Panthers have had made a difference tonight, yet we were 1st seed and have had the least recovery time.
Kirk I don’t think should have played and I’m not sure the risk was worth it. Olden missing two guilt edged chances summed up the game for us.
Panthers deserved to win and we’ll see if we have an answer tomorrow.

Agree about Connolly, apart from a few games he's been bang average.SteelerBlade wrote: ↑Sat May 01, 2021 9:27 pmKirk gets a pass from me as he’s probably not 100% (and was anonymous because of it), Connolly has probably been the most disappointing, probably had 2 games where he was any good.paul johnston wrote:Well that was disappointing. I think we'd be better with Eberle mikyska and dowd as a line. Then work others around that.
I've been very underwhelmed by Myers but thought he was very good tonight
