Bringing it back to the Clan and not really having a better place to put this.... While we have @DiscoRay Disco Rays (A great contributor towards our forum btw) attention.
I would like to draw attention to the fate of Clan backup goalie Lucas Brine if possible and certainly gets Disco Ray's comment's on this online statement from.... Eddie Saltz
I’m amazed how many people read my posts.

Many people ask why I am so passionate about Lucas Brine, well I know his dad well but it all started when we watched him play against Ukraine for GB where he played great and won.

He was selected to play against Poland the next night - it is the ultimate honour to be selected by GB but Mike and Fabian refused saying he was needed at Dundee.

At Dundee he was sat in the corridor, not on the bench, while Soulier played and baby goalie played in Paisley, the protocol would have been for Lucas to play GB and BG to back up.

That next week Lucas asked Fabian why he had been refused and he was told that his life had been too easy and that he needed to face some adversity and there was me thinking his job was to get goalies stopping pucks.

It got worse from that minute - Lucas has been gradually ghosted and you have all witnessed it.

When Fabian posts Clan goalie sessions he no longer features Lucas,

Lucas was selected to play for GB again this week but refused only to sit on the bench during the 8-1 Sheffield humiliation and then not dressed at all on Sunday night he could be in Innsbruck.

The ultimate insult came in the team photo - see attached Stanley cup champs and EIHL cup champs - both feature their 3rd goalie on the front line as is tradition - Lucas was made to stand in the second row and told not to wear his pads as far as the coaches are concerned there are only two goalies at the Clan - the ghosting was complete, he has been carefully pushed into the background and will play no further part this season.

Lucas loves Glasgow, the city and the team but his treatment by two interim coaches has been disgusting, even if the coaches are misguided enough to not see the value in a Brit as a number 2 show some respect.

That’s me done.

My name is Eddie Saltz and I am an ex professional ice hockey player and I support British Ice Hockey players

Yes I had seen this, and I've also heard rumours this poster is actually Brine's dad. Regardless of that aspect being true or not, it's hugely disappointing to hear this if even half of that account is true. Particularly as the new ownership has went out of it's way to say multiple times about making the club: "a great place to play" in terms of facilities, housing, medical benefits and general treatment, such as us granting leave for a few weeks to players dealing with a bereavement at home. (Which has happened twice.) Apart from being the back-up on the bench a few times, Brine hasn't featured at all since both our import goalies have been fit, and our almost perpetual injuries elsewhere has enabled the import netty not starting to serve as back-up. Brine is at least a couple of years off from being the finished article, but there is no better Brit netminder prospect currently that I'm aware of, and putting him out like this feels both pointless and a waste. It would only serve to drive him elsewhere, and knowing our luck he'll go to either Fife or back to Dundee to then stand on his head against us!

Fair enough if a club doesn't want to keep a player, but at least keep treating them professionally so you don't give them any extra motivation should they end up icing in opposition to you in the future. The treatment over the GB match is outright spiteful, and sounds something more like what a Malcom Cameron would do as opposed to the current regime. A temp regime at that, who may not continue beyond next week so that's a lot of future damage they could be causing in the name of only potentially a minor short-term benefit. Not a good trade in my book, even if it works.

Just another reason why the EIHL needs a formal player's union, but as we know they'll never go for that!

If I was Tony Smith on the look out in the Steelers/steeldogs academy and or progression system I would get this guy signed up immediately whether we need him or not... strengthen our own academy and prospects into the futere.. and give him the boost he also needs for his own development in the game... the biggest 4 are always on the lookout for the next Bowns or Whistle..
