Well we’ve kept a very solid net minder ✔️

I think we needed more toughness at the back and he mentioned that ✔️

I think we needed more goals and he mentioned that ✔️

I agree we weren’t that far off. If he improves the 2 above the we’ll have a better chance.

Pleased to have re signed Greener he’s the first I would have made and most important signing of last years squad.

Fully agree we need a better power play and a couple
Of natural goal scorers.

The best thing about this interview is it’s the first time I’ve heard Fox say we need more toughness on the back end and more grit on the bottom 6 Forwards.

If he delivers all of the above then maybe we’ll have a chance of challenging Belfast!!!!

Can't disagree with anything Fox says in his interview there. He said many of the things that us as fans have been saying all season long, such as toughness and a more defined top 6 etc.

On the flip side, I'm afraid I take what he says with a large pinch of salt. Pretty sure he said most of those things last year and we were still unsuccessful in the silverware department.

For the 2nd half of the season for me, the hockey was a dire watch and as a club I still don't believe we are any further forward than we were with the mighty Paul Thompson in charge. He was also more successful.

At the moment they're just positive noises and words, you'll have to excuse me if I doubt the execution.

Game On

Big positive with greenfield, now need to build team from there, need to have a mean defence around him, make teams really have to work to get anything out of game, especially at home, that should be our fortress

Fox has said ALL the issues that we have brought up here on the forum throughout the season.
It's OK to talk the talk but as above he said the same last year.
It's.a.wait.and see for me. Needs to look at his systems too with the potential player mix. Surely will need to change it up.

At the end of the day they're just words.

Didn't he say last season he wanted more grit in the forwards?

We ended up with McNally and Mitchell, both of whom under whelmed.

Of the outskaters I think we only signed two directly from North America:.......Mitchell and Neumann.

That's hardly the Roy and Fourney that Adams signed.

Therein lies one of the problems, we just don't seem to have the contacts in the North American Market that Belfast have. Unless that improves we won't bridge the vast gap between the two teams.

Fox talks of the gap only being the games between the two teams. He seems to forget that at times Belfast were down to only 9 imports, whereas at the worst we had 13.

If the injury curse hits us, do you see a Fox team going on the road and grinding out wins with only 13 skaters?

I certainly don't, because he doesn't sign the sort of winners that Blaiser and Keefe sign. I think the best example of that type of player signed by Fox was Eberle, but we just don't get enough of those players.

I'd love to have Eberle back next season and could he bring lerullo, Martin and Pavylychev with him?

Regards

Absolutely agree. Considering our luck with injuries bar a couple here or there, we actually were able to play four lines, or at least start games with four full lines for just about every game of the season, and rarely did we run short in import numbers. Considering that, and also our strength and conditioning team, we rarely played a full, hard, 60 minute game all season.

As you say a lot of words that we have heard before.

Fully agree with your post. Are you sure Fox signed Eberle? I thought he was here before Fox? Either way he was one of my fave players when he was here.
