First year outside North America, typically not a big English speaking country/league. Too many other factors to take in to account when season before he's first team ECHL all star. Big ice could be an argument against any signings you've made from the Coast.

I know it's the first time in a while we've signed someone who looks like a potential top 5 player in the league, but that's some small straws to be clutching

I thought it was mentioned that when he scored all those goals he was playing centre, whereas in Slovakia he was put on the wing.

If you look at his numbers at Bystrica, he's 4th top on assists having played less than half the number of games of the players above him. He's also 2nd on +/- stats.

Obviously we won't know until we actually see him on the ice, but based on his stats and what I've read I'm certainly very happy to see him centre our top line.

The fact that opposition fans either haven't said a word or are looking for the smallest thing to try and talk this signing down tells you every single one of them would take this guy

I havent read too many talking this down. In fact, most sigings at this stage go with very little comment. Fife players have probably had more exposure in the forums.!

33rd but played at least 10 games less than everyone else in the list I think. His PPG average puts him much higher doesn't it ?

According to the Star, we are interested in an "experienced Canadian winger with a fascinating career".

Not loads to go on, but given the "fascinating career" line, I would guess maybe some KHL experience, possibly an NHL game or 2 as well.

Lucas Lessio was a name mentioned by somebody previously - might well fit the above. Also was at Zagreb when Fox was there.

Of course, could be well off the mark!

I’d take him in a heartbeat, he would be a great addition. Lightning speed, 25 goals in DEL season before last and decent numbers in ICEHL last season a good age too.

I think if we sign Lessio we’re looking at another Fretter. Not some defensive forward with mediocre points in higher leagues expected to put up goals, when it’s quite clear that’s never been their role, it would be a welcome change

It's funny you should mention Fretter, because I was just having a look at his stats compared to Lessio.

The season Fretter signed for us he had very similar numbers (very slightly better).

I'd certainly be happy with another Fretter. He didn't put up huge numbers, but he was solid and consistent for us.

Some random trawling based on the hint about experience and fascinating career. Lessio would be more likely I think but this guy potentially fits the description. Came through NCAA route as opposed to major junior, pretty much straight to Europe and has played in a number of top Euro leagues, including the KHL.

Potential uni place maybe as a means to tempt since I think salary alone we wouldn't have a chance.
