Very happy with Watling - was ECHL all star in 21/22 so no doubt we are getting a very good player.
Twitter rumour pages didn't have this, and get a bit of a feeling that clubs have worked out who was running them - had to be someone on the inside. I wonder if said people are no longer getting info ahead of time.
Personally like it that way - gets a bit boring when you already know who likely to have signed before they do - look at the dragging out of announcing Saucerman. Everyone knows it's a done deal already

Wonder if this guy is on the radar? Not signed anywhere yet, played with Watling and Simpson at UNB.
Definitely would take as a top liner alongside Watling

What you think to this guy

I’m thinking the Zagreb connection and his lower point numbers in ICEHL

If you gave me the choice based on stats, I'd prefer Boucher but he doesn't look bad at all. His points were lower last year, but goals wise he was joint 2nd top scorer on his team, only 1 behind the top player.House_of_Steel wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2023 12:06 pmginger wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2023 11:07 amhttps://www.eliteprospects.com/player/2 ... ew-boucher

Good size too. Guessing they'd be slightly different players but I don't think Lessio would be a bad shout

33rd in scoring in Slovakia so in keeping with Steelers scorers last year, only 6 goals across 2 teams, did he get cut by Kosice who went onto win the league? Says himself he struggled with the bigger ice so like all new import signings we will have to see how he settles. Good numbers before that so maybe just a blip.

First year outside North America, typically not a big English speaking country/league. Too many other factors to take in to account when season before he's first team ECHL all star. Big ice could be an argument against any signings you've made from the Coast.glenngiant wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2023 2:41 pm33rd in scoring in Slovakia so in keeping with Steelers scorers last year, only 6 goals across 2 teams, did he get cut by Kosice who went onto win the league? I know it's the first time in a while we've signed someone who looks like a potential top 5 player in the league, but that's some small straws to be clutching

It's amazing who will tell you things in advance, especially when they can trust you won't go public with it.ginger wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2023 7:43 amVery happy with Watling - was ECHL all star in 21/22 so no doubt we are getting a very good player.

I thought it was mentioned that when he scored all those goals he was playing centre, whereas in Slovakia he was put on the wing.ginger wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2023 4:08 pmFirst year outside North America, typically not a big English speaking country/league. If you look at his numbers at Bystrica, he's 4th top on assists having played less than half the number of games of the players above him. He's also 2nd on +/- stats.
Obviously we won't know until we actually see him on the ice, but based on his stats and what I've read I'm certainly very happy to see him centre our top line.

The fact that opposition fans either haven't said a word or are looking for the smallest thing to try and talk this signing down tells you every single one of them would take this guyDoom wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2023 4:41 pmI thought it was mentioned that when he scored all those goals he was playing centre, whereas in Slovakia he was put on the wing.ginger wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2023 4:08 pmFirst year outside North America, typically not a big English speaking country/league.
