Brandon McNally: https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/7 ... on-mcnally
Brandon is no stranger to the league and don’t think we could of found a better guy to come in to play a role and give us something we have lacked in previous years. I don’t believe in bringing in one dimensional guys and him being a guy willing to stick up for his teammates and answer the bell when needed came 2nd to me when watching his game back. Before his injury he was playing key minutes and contributing for Cardiff at both ends of the ice. Brandon is big, skates well and when engaged a extremely effective player. I had many conversations with him and there isn’t a guy coming in with a bigger chip on their shoulder and more excited to get started.

Game On

After watching that interview I am actually very impressed with his attitude to the game and his determination to prove a point, he already classes himself as an underdog and is determined to show his worth and as accepted a 4th line role with a view to move up the lines and keep his team mates safe and sound. expressing his own desire to be a team player and someone his team mates can actually rely on. I dont think you can underestimate players like that.
Zack Fitzgerald was this exact type player when he came to us, a bit misunderstood, a bit of a short fuse and wasn't known at all for his skills as a forward and in my opinion he was a great addition to our club. you need balance in hockey and players like Brandon are sometimes the key players to balance a team in many ways. Plays where the coaches put him, get on with the game, dont fuss and moan to much, actually motivate his team mates and stand up the plate when the bell is rung. sending a message that the team will not be bullied, add him to Connolly, Mitchell and Petgrave it brings a balance we haven't seen in years.

I’ve been happy with taking Mcnally since it was first rumoured. Even more so like you said after watching todays interview video. He’s the type of player you hate on the opposing teams but fans will love him when he’s playing for us. Foxes interview this morning was interesting about when he told Dowd he’d signed Mcnally and Dowd wanted to hug him just shows how much he was needed, if Dowds really happy with him then the small skilled guys who aren’t as tough as Dowdy are really gonna appreciate him on the side.

Pleased with this signing, for exactly the reasons Jay mentions. A team is only as good as the sum of all its parts, let’s see how they gel together on the ice. Welcome to Sheffield Brandon!

I've said it many times its not only the superstars that win you championships down the line its players like this, sure the club are nothing without the Vallerand and Dowds of hockey and the contribution up front or your stud goalie pulling off the impossible save in a game..
but I feel players like this are a vital cog in a TEAM and one we have been missing especially since Connolly was injured.. :wonder:

When it was first rumoured I wasn't excited. But seeing how the roster has formed and where he actually sits in the line-up (at least for the most part) I've certainly warmed to it. He'll do a job and he can actually play the game in other ways more than physical, so it's interesting to say the least. :jazz:

Very happy with this, was never against it in all honesty - I thought if he was coming Fox would have him in a bottom 6 role, playing physical and giving us some passion and toughness, which we definitely needed more of, so I always thought this would be a good one for us.

Sounds like he really is coming in to prove a point which is always good and he wants to work his way up the lineup through good play, which Fox has already proven he is willing to do (Whistle for example last season).

Probably going to start with Whistle and Jono on 4th line but will certainly give us some more net front presence as well wonder if we see him in that role on the 2nd PP unit, as I would assume Allen is the first guy we go to for that role.

Looking forward to see how this pans out through the season but a very welcome addition in my opinion.

Welcome to Sheffield Brandon,

I tried to refrain from commenting in the rumours section regarding his potential signing until he was or was not signed.

Whilst I didn't see that much of him last season at Cardiff I for one am delighted with him signing.

He will STICK UP for our players and isn't frightened of anyone in our league and for me, this is something a few of us have been crying out for.

I don't see him as 20 goal scorer or an assist machine, but someone who will work damned hard for the team and has the ability to change the MOMENTUM of the game by some old school in your face hockey.

Chuffed to bits he's signed for us. Hopefully we'll not be getting pushed around this year!

Not listened to his interview yet, but am looking forward to listening to it later.
