The importance of our Netminder

As for the importance of our netminders then our new signing Matt looks every bit of a number one Goalie to me.
And having him and Ostlund fighting it out can only help going forward. I said over on Matts thread that I do honestly think If matt had been announced first we would all have been very impressed, I think maybe he was announced second to keep some of the pressure from him,at 27 and 6'1" he looks a very good keeper.

Having a young and motivated netminder can only be good for the team.
That puts Oskar Ostlund on notice from the get go.. He will have Matt Greenfield putting pressure on him and from what ive seen from Oskar hasn't come for an easy ride either and wants to prove himself also..
After all the wait, I have to say I am very happy with our netminders this year.. with only a little 'what if' when it comes to using 2 wages to get in the Stud we all wanted

Very happy with this. Looks good and should have 2 solid NMs who look on paper to be capable of the 91.5%+ save percentage that you need to have a good shot at the league.

Prefer this to loading all on 1 import, with what would no doubt be a cheap Brit back up. 1 over stretch/goalie collision away from league championship going up in smoke.

Sure we could have combined the wages of our two keepers and gone fishing. However had we done that and got a stud keeper to sign it would have left us vulnerable should that keeper become injured or he had struggled with having to play every night. Whilst the two young keepers are potential number one keepers they are not ready yet.
I agree with what appears to be Foxy intent to get the best goaltending duo he could with the money available
