The Sheffield Steelers Shirt Launch and “Meet the Players Night” is on Friday 2nd September.
Held at the Arena this year which to me is a welcome move..
For years the Steelers have been lucky enough to hold the event at the outstanding Royal Victoria hotel in Sheffield, however with numbers increasing every year the cub has taken the decision to move the event to the Utilita Arena Sheffield. This has also given us the opportunity to make the show of the player introduction bigger, especially as we will be lowering our new Super Jumbo Tron to floor level as the backdrop covering the night.
The arena ice will be covered and then with seats and extra seats under Whitehouse. which should be quite for once

I voted no but I’m still a little undecided. With my new work pattern I’m not sure just how many games I’ll be able to attend and the pricing unfortunately doesn’t help in the current climate.

Suppose I can go get a shirt and be an armchair fan though hey? 😏

A better choice of venue I believe after some of the issues from the last few years.

I've been an armchair fan for the last 4 years since moving to Wales.

I'm a maybe.

Only went to one at the previous location and it was horrible.

Not sure yet about this one.
I kinda want to go but tbh I doubt the jerseys will be good enough for me to want to get/order one there and then and I'm not one for gushing all over the players they're only normal folk like the rest of us.

I just hope the shirts actually look like traditional hockey shirts. Not as if someone has suddenly found out how to put pin stripes and oblique angle patterns on shirts and goes overboard with this new discovery.

I couldn't agree more. I've been going to get a new jersey for 3 years now and they've all been utterly awful barring the Conti cup one last season which was only on sale for about 5 minutes

I voted No, but I think it's much better now it's been moved to the arena, there should be far more space. Good idea from the club.

The last time I went to a shirt launch was also at the arena and I got my shirt signed my Longstaff, Brebant, Vial and a few others which was the Grand-Slam year.

I voted yes, now its back at the arena, we shall take the kids and have a decent family night out. The only reason I stopped going was the venue, I am not keen on lots of people in tight spaces and the heat it generates and also the safety implications. Now its back at the arena we will go again, I see it as a great way to see the players and get a read on them as personalities and characters etc see some some of the body language and team bonding going off, its also a fun event for the kids my 2 still love the thrill of new players and names etc and the buzz of the start of hockey season again... Also a great way to bump into old mates and arena buddies as I call them, talk hockey and generally have a good chat and laugh. Life in general is miserable at the moment and I need some light relief in my life.. :Smiled:

This may have been covered elsewhere already so apologies if so, but as we have 2 games prior to the shirt launch are we playing in training tops in those games or is the shirt launch not so much the shirt launch and more the shirt purchase with the launch being in the Nottingham games the weekend before?
