There is no doubt he is an hothead and maybe even an idiot but I seriously think they got it about right for once I never said anywhere he shouldn't receive a DOPS further action or anything silly like that, but we are as a group of fans starting to believe the same Zero Tolerance bull crap they tried to shove onto the game 10 years ago after a season long of over reacting.. its was bull then and it is now.. its the thin end of the wedge mate, soon it will be no contact and the officials will wear Pink high vis jackets so we can see them better and the players to keep out their way!!

Didn’t one of our players get a longer suspension for throwing his stick once he had left the ice a few years ago?
In my view you are looking at a couple of games for the stick throw, based on previous precedents already set.
Shoving the Red deserves a severe punishment. Whatever you may think of them, they are the guys who strap on their skates and stand in the middle.
It used to be a lifetime ban if you deliberately touched a ref in Rugby.
What ever you think, it was a cheap shot against someone who had their back turned, if someone had done that to him, people would have expected Gagnon to have a word, we don’t have anyone to protect the Refs.

Any deliberate contact with officials in ANY sport deserves long bans IMO.
Doesn’t matter whether it’s a gentle push or not, this was DELIBERATE contact so he’s lucky to get only 5 games. I say again, there’s not even a bad call on the play from watching the video. So I’m struggling to understand why he went after the ref!?
I take a very dim view when it comes to aggression against the officials. They have no way to protect themselves.
I would also be saying the same if one of our players did the same.

Didn't Andrew Sharpe once get a 20 game ban for pushing an official?

I assume Davey will get the same assessment then? I didn't think it looked like much at the time but according to the podcast they reviewed the footage and confirmed head contact was made.mark wrote: ↑Tue Oct 18, 2022 2:48 pmTanner Sorenson ( Panthers )- 1 game for checking to the head

Curious the same player Ohrvall receives a check to the head in a short time spell in two different games. A definite concussion risk there. Hopefully he's ok. One to take care with in future games against Manchester. Make sure to keep contact low and to the body.

Not too bad probably fair, just glad DOPS didn’t go overboard.

Hmmm , Storm players head was down and contact was made with the body and head simultaneously at the moment of impact , Phillips on both skates so didn't leave his feet until after impact but of course the whiplash effect makes it look bad. I can see why it was called but if you are going to skate round with your head down at some stage you will pay for it.
For me this is worse then Davey’s but only gets one game banmark wrote: ↑Tue Oct 18, 2022 2:48 pmTanner Sorenson ( Panthers )- 1 game for checking to the head
