Welcome to Sheffield Mark.
Can’t say I’m particularly excited with this signing if I’m honest. If the reports of him not using his size to his advantage is correct I think he’ll be a frustrating watch for me personally. Same as Armstrong was.
Guess the main positive purely from listening to interviews and reading reports is he’s good in the face off circle. Oh, and age is certainly on his side.
I can’t say I’m particularly impressed with any of our signings so far. Let’s hope there’s a couple of studs lined up for the remaining ones, as I don’t think we’ll be competing for silverware successfully if these are the standard.

Can be frustrating on size, but there's many different ways to use it - it doesn't have to be big hits constantly. He looks like he's a skinnier tall guy, (weight stat backs that up), so my guess is that whilst he might not be a big hitter (relatively), if he uses leverage and reach he could be very effective.smbmetal wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 1:52 pmWelcome to Sheffield Mark.

That's how I feel.
If Neumann and Simpson are our 1st and 2nd line centers then I think we look quite weak down the middle. Neumann should be good for 20 to 25 goals and Simpson 15 to 20 at a push.
That gives us 40 to 45 goals down the middle.........Conway managed 40 on his own, although he was a bit of a freak.
Hopefully I'm jumping the gun and we have a 1st line center lined up, but I'm not convinced.
A Cardiff fan summed it up for me after the signing of Vally:
The last two signings really sum up the differences between the two organisations concerned. Re-signing Vallerand smacks of laziness. In my eyes it was quite clear that he wasn't the player he was in his previous spells here yet they still turn to him.
Contrast that with Belfast who have gone with a younger player who appears to be on the up and who has very decent numbers in the ECHL.
It might turn out that Vallerand re-finds his mojo and Nazarian is a busted flush but..... to me this is the difference between a Championship team and one that has lost its way.
Let's hope the first part of that last sentence proves to be correct.

Ive just moved a bunch of posts to a more relevant thread more on topic...
Can we please please not hijack a signing threads, takinging it wildly off topic, I dont think a player reading our forum would want to see his thread descend into a discussion on how we feel the team isn't what we think it ought to be, (very valid topic btw) when really he should at the very least expect us to be talking about him and his potential as a team signing...
Can you guys carry on that discussion here please: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=619
