I’m happy with this but like Doom I hope we have a new top line forward who can feed off Allen’s hard work.

Time will tell. Hopefully an announcement soon.

Sorry, I'm not particularly excited with this re-signing. I personally believe we could have upgraded/gone for different style of player.

He's no spring chicken either at 33. I would have been looking at someone 10 years his junior, especially if there's another 1st liner lined up.

Sure that goes against the positivity train, but that's where I am.

It's another no-brainer if you believe some quarters.

I think he did well last term but I suppose it all depends on where and how he's deployed.

I think with Allen you know what you're going to get, but like a few of the others he's at the back end of his career and isn't likely to improve.

I'm OK with this if there is still a top quality 1st line import forward to be named.

For me a 2nd line of Ciampini/Allen/Neumann is very solid with potentially 70 goals if they all stay fit. If the final signing (assuming Juusola is banked) isn't a top end forward then I'm concerned, because it would mean we're relying too much on last seasons ageing forwards to provide our scoring and it would feel like we've not improved on what we had.

I guess time will tell, but previous comments did suggest we were in for a 1st line forward who would be on an MBA......fingers crossed.

Regards

Doom

Great re-signing assuming will be 2nd line. Top penalty killer in the league (and with losing Jono that's huge) plus a 20 odd goal scorer.

Good add for me. Proven 24 goal scorer at this level. Offers vast experience and has good size. Expect him to bring leadership too.

Useful off the puck too. Courted by Cardiff and German sides (presumably DEL2).

Just had to have a laugh at a post on Twitter.

Apparently we shouldn't have signed Allen because he "downed tools" last year and "always looked grumpy". Same poster said we've only re-signed him because he's good looking!

I really do wonder sometimes about UK hockey fans.....

The guys I sit with used to have a laugh with me whenever his mugshot appeared on the player introduction. More psycho axe murderer than a good looking fashion model!
