Really hope it's more of pre-season game one as suggested.

Cardiff do have a head start having already played 500 pre-season games :D so they should be sharper.

Will give us a good indication of how far we either still need to improve or whether we might have the makings of a really awesome team.

3-2 Cardiff.

I only hope that the fans do take into mind that.... and dont get on the teams back after only 2 games together if we dont perform quite to their level...
perspective is always needed when you look at games like this....

Good luck with that - it's taken 1 game for Petgrave to be the scapegoat again

I remember the last time we competed in the CHL, the first few games of the regular season, we blew everyone away by 5/6 goal deficits due to our preparation.

If we can half compete with Cardiff and come away with a 1-2 goal deficit defeat at worst, I’ll be happy with that

I'm hopeful of a decent performance and a decent game. I hear Devils are quite physical this year, and they obviously have that guy Brandt who's a bit of a tool.

Looking forward to this and seeing how this group of players develops.

Cardiff are well ahead of us in terms of pre-season, so we're probably the underdogs, but I hope to see a solid showing in front of another decent crowd.

If Vally is fit I wonder if anybody will sit out or we'll be allowed to play our full compliment of imports.

Regards

Why are we so under prepared this season?

Its an excellent question. Considering we count ourselves as one of the biggest clubs in the country I dont know why we didn't get the guys in a week earlier. Hopefully when the real action starts next week we will be up to required speed.

Devils have been winning their games and are more match fit. I think they’ll win but I hope not easily.

It will be a good gauge for us. If it’s a close one that’ll be encouraging if they hammer us a warning/ wake up.

🤞
