I agree that on another night we could have won.

But I also think this year's Clan team is a significant upgrade on last years, who we would have beaten last night. Credit where it's due.

We have only lost 2 league games and are still on a .81 average. Belfast won it last year with .78 and lost 11 games over the season.

I feel it was just one of those nights when things don't gel and the luck deserts you. We know these lads can pass ,skate and shoot well but Sunday there was a disconnect somewhere. It happens in sport and losing by one goal after having over 40 shots is just a bit unfortunate.
Personally I am amazed that after all the upset and trauma of the last few weeks that they have come back so well. That awful night in the arena still troubles me and heaven knows how it has affected all the players. In my opinion we need to give them and indeed all teams , a bit more care , compassion and understanding.

Completely agree, that for this particular game we were unfortunate and did everything but score more than them. There was absolutely no way Glasgow deserved to win this game, but unfortunately in sport you don't always get what you deserve. I don't think I've seen one comment faulting the guys effort or not understanding what they've all been through. They really have been amazing!

Whilst we've done brilliantly so far this season and with allowances for the all the recent terrible events, if we want to win the title we have to find a way to break down teams who come to defend and block the lanes etc. For me Fox's team's weaknesses are exactly this type of game, especially evident last season.

We need to find a way. I'd argue we have the best team since Gerad Adam's title winning team so we have the talent available, we just need to find the clinical edge in these types of games.

All in all though, a fantastic start to the season, really looking forward to seeing how the season continues to unfold.

Trying to understand the below from the EIHL re our no goal call.

https://www.eliteleague.co.uk/article/3 ... deo-review

It says that a coach can only challenge for goalie interference only?

I don’t think our goal was disallowed for goalie interference and the puck clearly crossed the line.

I very much doubt Fox initiated a coach’s challenge for goalie interference when that wasn’t the call on the play, so why did he get a delay of game penalty?

The official game-sheet says he got a penalty for an incorrect coaches challenge for ‘Puck Crossing the Line’? https://www.eliteleague.co.uk/game/4080-she-gla

If a coach can only challenge for goalie interference, how can he get a penalty for delay of game for ‘puck crossing the line’? Did Fox ask for a review for the puck crossing the line? Surely he’d know he can’t challenge that call?

I hope someone far cleverer than me can explain? :hey:

I saw that video review thing and am similarly bamboozled. It’s a statement that explains nothing.

The incident is in the past, the game is over… why bring it up?

It seems to me if any error was made in going for a review it was made by the refs. If there were no grounds for a coach review then it shouldn’t have been reviewed. As I said I think they had a shocker.

Yes the incident has long gone and nothing can change it etc.

I’ve put it in the game thread as the statement is relevant to this game only, so don’t really see what the issue is??

Just trying to see if someone can understand the decision better than me that’s all.

You’re right Jayboy I meant why did EIHL bring it up. Doesn’t make sense to me.

Sorry if that wasn’t clear smbmetal.
